If they ever played, he more than likely did. You won't find any evidence of it other than hearsay. Ex: jordan crawford posterizing bron.

Kind of fits the narrative of Lebron not valuing 1 v 1 basketball as seen on podcasts recently.

Does it matter, no. Anyone who watches basketball knows Lebron is not a 1 v 1 player or an elite half court scorer.

The reason he is so polarizing is the reason why we even have to talk about this. Everyone should appreciate Bron for what he is and stop trying to make it about what he isn't, including Lebron, his team of people around him and his hardcore fans. Would love for them to stop killing stories and start elevating what he has actually done.

He is the leading scorer of all time but that does not make him an elite scorer(my definition of elite may be different than yours) is camouflaging the truth. I'll give the example of Shaq, he scored a lot of points in his career but he was not a scorer. He was a dominant, unstoppable force. Like Lebron has been in his career. Appreciate that. Let's stop trying to make him something he is not.

He could have beat Lebron 100 times and it still wouldn't mean ****.

Beasley is ~10 years younger than LeBron, right? So maybe it could be true if it happened now.

Beasley is about 4 years younger than LeBron.

LeBron's better in 5vs5 than 1vs1.

Wallace_Wallace wrote:No. Michael Beasley wasn’t some awesome defender. To be good at one on one, you need to be somewhat skilled on both ends. IMO, Kawhi Leonard is the best one on one player with his offensive and defensive skills. He doesn’t waste any energy on offense, and though he’s not quite the same defender, he’s still a force.

What if you play make it take it? Beasley gets hot, makes a bunch of shots, and wins in a “blowout.” Seems plausible that it happened once, especially if they played a bunch of games.

Beasley beating Lebron 1v1 wouldn't surprise me. It's well known how talented Beasley was and is at basketball. He just had it in him to be great at the NBA level.

Im a lebron guy but I definitely believe Beasley. Lebrons greatness is at its highest in a 5on5 setting. Beasleys greatness is at its highest in a 1on1 setting. If he got Hot against lebron, I think its possible for sure.

Talk about a giant what if.

Michael Beasley with his head screwed on right, wouldve been freakishly good. I believe he could beat LeBron 1v1 back in the day. Beasley's ability to create separation at his size was freakish. He had all the tools to be a perennial All NBA guy.

The issue with him has always been, did he ever love the game and did he ever want to put in the level of work to be an All NBA guy and a team first guy. He had plenty of 1v1 skill, the issue is he seemed to check out in any other scenario. And he always just seemed like a nutcase and a headache off the court. So he never came close to sniffing his potential.

it is eminently believable. but also, beas really likes drugs. so whether it actually happened or it was something that he hallucinated, is an equally valid topic to debate.

i agree and would add that i think his limitations were also largely related to the tactical/strategic aspects of nba ball. there are hordes of talented players who excel at streetball but cant really play within the structure of an offense or defense reliably. beas at k-state was basically a one man offense. i dont think he operated within a structure there, and i dont think he would have had the chops to, either.

that said, exceptionally talented dude.

Beasley was probably so high, he played Bronny when he was 8 and thought it was Lebron.

beasley was always so high that he could have played an orange traffic cone or a dancing koala juggling plates and genuinely believed it was lebron.

but the answer to this poll is: yes, i would believe that "he" believes he beat lebron 1v1. and he was skilled enough to do it, so it doesn't feel ridiculous for him to say.

Plenty of players could beat LeBron 1 on 1.

I mean this has been rumored from multiple players that witnessed it for years but neither Beasley nor LBJ ever confirmed it until now it looks like

Rafer Alston used to cook people 1-1 on the court. Never translated to much

But yeah Lebron especially early on in his career was not a great shooter either it makes sense.
