He was not comparing them as players, but only on athleticism. It was mentioned by one of the host when they did their recap 39-41:00 mark

Sam Vecenie on his latest mock had us doing double trade down and land both 6th and 18th pick to draft Kon Kneuppel and Danny Wolf

Ok, then let’s take CMB or Jase Richardson at #3 since they had a higher BPM than your boy.

Because college stats are all that matters!

I'd definitely take CMB over Ace but not for BPM reasons.

Well, you aren't completely alone.

I still put KJ in the Kon / VJ group as well. I'd be thrilled if we walked away with any of them.

KJ's my guy. Followed by VJ

I like Trae as well BUT I think in order to win with him you'd need a very specific team built around him. Think AI sixers

Something tells me this thread is going to be pure comedy to look at in about 4 years.

I saw that as well. It didn't make that much sense to me. It has us trading EG and Drum. They're small expirings. I would think they'd be more valuable at the trade deadline.

That said, I think Mathurin is immensely talented but consistency and being a liability on defense has limited him early in his career.

I think VJ has more shot creation ability. Most of Mathurin’s offense comes from kickouts, catch-and-shoots, attacking closeouts, and off-screens, he’s rarely tasked with running PnR or creating off the dribble, unlike VJ. If VJ wants a bigger offensive role, he’ll need to improve in those areas, particularly in pick-and-roll and off-the-dribble creation. He’s shown some upside as a midrange shot creator, but his shooting (38%) and footwork need refinement. That said, I’m fairly confident he can develop into a better finisher in the halfcourt at the NBA level.

More shot creation ability based on what, that’s tangible? I actually think Mathurin is a really nice comp for VJ, although he’s 2 inches shorter. Nice player, but you don’t draft that at #3.

If I had to do an order right now it would be KJ > KK > VJ. I see all of them as kids that will thrive in good systems and on contending teams, which is what I hope we're building toward here.

Good watch if you're curious about the Tre J effort, defense, and off ball questions. Always hard to tell about that but full games are the only thing that get you anywhere:

VJ is half an inch shorter than Mathurin.

I compared VJ to Mathurin some weeks back, I agree with the comparison.

Told ya. Been on the Harper train for a couple weeks now. I don't know if it'll happen, but there's no way Morey is using that pick on just a solid contributor. He wants to maximize it.
