Interesting. Long reliever until traded I assume. Do we still have to send someone down for Miz or did I miss something? Maybe Yeli heading to IL, half kidding.

Murphy said Civale is not happy about the move to the bullpen. Guessing they’re trying hard to move him behind the scenes.

Probably Patrick. He pitches today and will be on the shelf for awhile. Maybe rest his arm for a week or two and see how things shake out with Woody returning. He's pitched 69 innings plus today, last season he pitched 136
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Patrick is a leader for NL ROY, and he's been far and away the best Brewers pitcher this year. If he's sent down it'll only be for a few days.

With Civale going to long relief I'd imagine Patrick will stay in the rotation. Guessing McGee goes back down after the game today

Hard to blame him. He's not a bad pitcher and he's in a contract year.

Re: Brewers 2025 Discussion - Misiorowski Called Up
So the rotation will be
Peralta
Quintana
Mis
Priester
Patrick
And then make a move when/if Woody comes back?
Henderson only in case of injury?

Seems like it. And eventually Cortes too

If the return is decent, wonder if they would consider moving Quintana knowing can plug in Henderson…?
Don’t want to jerk around the young players too much either.

Re: Brewers 2025 Discussion - Misiorowski Called Up
Baseball Prospectus:
Scouting Report: Misiorowski sits in the upper-90s and routinely touches triple digits with his fastball. He’s hit 103 this year. The pitch is high spin with a flat approach, and while the fastball shape is nothing to write home about, the velocity here will overwhelm even major-league hitters and I’d expect it to be one of the bigger swing-and-miss fastballs in the majors if the command even manages to hit well-below-average. He backs it with a (very) hard cutter in the mid-90s and an upper-80s curve that is at least plus-plus. Misiorowski will pop the odd power change as well. He has elite arm speed and gets downhill well in his delivery, but it’s (very) high-effort, and he’s been scattershot with his control throughout his minor league career. The main concern for him in the bigs is that hitters simply won’t expand against his power stuff and will be more able to hit his fastball and curve when he has to come into the zone. However you can count the number of starters with this kind of stuff—there’s four potential plus pitches here, and not in the Joe Kelly sense—on one hand, and the relief fallback is first-division closer anyway.
Immediate Major-League Future: Misiorwoski is ticketed for the Brewers rotation and how long he stays there and how good the top line results are might solely come down to if he can keep his walk rate closer to 10% than 15%.

Re: Brewers 2025 Discussion - Misiorowski Called Up
No surprise.

Would have to think Cortes is the other odd man out. Quintana maaaybe. Freddy would be the shocker, but I think he's moved in the offseason.
“I’ve heard from other teams, through their channels of communication, that they have a plethora of starting pitching and are looking for trade partners, maybe not just on Aaron, but maybe another pitcher,” Toffey said. “That’s my understanding.”
Civale is earning $8 million, matching Peralta for the highest salary among Brewers pitchers. The Brewers, operating with the game’s 24th-highest Opening Day payroll, often seek to create opportunities for less expensive options. And Misiorowski is the game’s No. 87 prospect, according to The Athletic’s Keith Law.
“Aaron is not angry or banging his fist on the table,” Toffey said. “But it’s a little confusing because he did not pitch his way out of the rotation whatsoever. It’s more of a subjective choice the organization is making.”

Re: Brewers 2025 Discussion - Misiorowski Called Up
I don't blame Civale at all for being unhappy. He's a decent pitcher that's getting pushed out for a guy whose never pitched in MLB. On top of that he's heading into free agency next offseason so this decision could literally cost him millions of dollars. A trade of some sort is the best solution

Re: Brewers 2025 Discussion - Misiorowski Called Up
I get it from both sides. Hopefully can find a trade partner and get a little something back. Would assume he won’t be super hard to move unless Crew have certain parameters they want on a return.
I do sometimes worry with how the Brewers operate if it will start to rub players the wrong way. We’re kind of an assembly line type operation which has been successful, all things considered, but wonder if in the locker room if the guys (especially veterans) have a bittersweet view of the org.

Civale is a pending FA in any event, so I think it makes sense to deal him. But I would also be fine if they dealt someone else and opened up a spot for him. He's a very solid back-end starter.

Yeah if I'm being honest I kind of get this one from Civale and for where the Brewers are at, a trade makes sense from their side too . Probably something you would've wanted to consider ahead of time if you're Matt Arnold so hopefully he has some potential deals lined up.

Yep, I don't blame him either. Curious what happens first - he gets traded or an injury moves him back into the rotation.

Is this just a move to get Miso on the 40 man and Woody can still come back since he's already done his time?
