Smartest suggestion I’ve seen in a while on here. But gets automatically dismissed because it’s a “Celtics guy” let’s keep on enjoying our play in tournaments and 15th or 16th picks amirite

It’s a sarcastic response to an idea that we can win with this group but go on. I know you’re loving these play in tournaments and seeing us compete for 16th place!

Knicks and Miami. Knicks getting mentioned but Heat the more realistic trade partner.

If we had Bam and another all star that can defend I’d say go all in for KD however like someone already pointed out Tyler is playoff shrinker. Hard to really go for it when the organization is committed to a massive defensive liability with major physical limitations. Possibly 50m per year is scary for Herro

Then trade Tyler and the remaining assets for that 3rd guy. You get KD/Bam and a legit 3rd guy that can impact games in the playoffs and you have a chance if you can find the right fits in the supporting cast. We saw what Jimmy/Bam did, we could have even more now

You go all in for KD now as currently assembled ok maybe (big maybe) make it to ECF or finals in a VERY weak east. You’re always going to have the Tyler Herro problem. Too crucial of an offensive player to sit but too weak defensively to play in big playoff moments. You don’t see teams like OKC or Pacers with any major defensive liabilities in their lineups. But hey if Mickey wants to keep selling those ticks then pay Herro and Bam 100 million combined for those 1st round exits

Only way Bam gets traded is if it's for a superstar in return (i.e. Giannis, Jokic), or if he explicitly asks out.

Pat will never willingly trade his star players for a lesser player in return, and definitely not for picks.

If we were going with the 'blow it up approach' the time to cash out was after the July 2023 summer. We had just come off of a finals run and made no upgrades to the roster (missed out on Dame). Jimmy's value was at an all-time high. Bam's was at an all-time high.

Trading both could have netted at least 6+ FRPs in return + young assets, and that doesn't even include Tyler. We also wouldn't have traded a 1st round pick for Terry Rozier, giving us even more capital.

Yeah I feel like we're most likely trading this pick for either KD or Derozan

Suns could essentially start there rebuild with

C Thomas Sorber (20th pick)
PF Niko Jovic
SF Jaime Jaquez Jr/Ryan Dunn
SG Devin Booker
PG Terry Rozier(Expiring) PG Walter Clayton Jr(29th pick) or PG Kam Jones

30 mil in tax savings alone from the Duncan Robinson dump contract which they could probably find a 3rd team like BK to absorb the entire amount for a low level pick. In my opinion that's a lot brighter then Harrison Barnes and Devin Vassell's long term contract. Will be interesting to see if the Spurs continue to add assets to counter our offer like adding Sochan which I hear they really don't want to do.

I had mentioned this myself in the draft thread. By this time last year we had already worked out 10 propsects. Two players that we took in Ware and Keshad Johnson who worked out on June 7th last year at the Arena.

Expectation: Miami trades 1st round pick + Wiggins + Jovic + Jaime for KD.

Reality: Miami trades 1st round pick for a future 2030 2nd round pick + cash considerations.

Micky Arison is undefeated.
