Bryant's lack of head coaching experience is being unfairly held against him IMO. Bryant already has familiarity with coaching Jalen, Josh, OG, Precious, Mitch, and Deuce. No other available candidate is more familiar with the majority of our core.
We could be setting ourselves up for Bryant to get snatched up elsewhere long-term. By the time we would want Bryant again, we will be asking his team for permission to interview him.
My first guess when the firing happened was they wanted to make sure Bryant wouldn’t go to Phoenix. I was under the impression they had this planned. They know Bryant well. I was happy with it. Unfortunately, the past week proved me wrong.

Maybe it's gonna be Bryant with Woods and Fizdale as two of his assistants. You not only need a great coach, but he needs to be supported by experienced assistants.

I do hope that Leon and Co give Bryant a fair shot at interviewing for this job.
With Jenkins I'm interested but I would be a liar if I said I knew anything about how he coached Memphis.

Woodson is too old (67) to be a head coach but he would be great again as an experienced assistant. He also has experience already working alongside Bryant.
Fizdale should never have a Knicks job again.

Am i the only one who thinks it's worth the risk of going with Bryant?
Seriously. Am I nuts?
I just want fresh ideas and a different approach. This roster with a few tweaks is definitely talented enough to win a title. We're not a lesser team than Indiana even though they beat us, I truly believe that we should have ended them.
The window is wide open, but Wemby is in the mountains currently training with shaolin monks. We gotta get modern, dynamic, and deep

I'm still trying to figure out whose the problem in the PnR situation. I can't remember, but I recall him and KP had decent chemistry with the PnR. I also remember JB using him as a certified lob threat. Knicks need those actions back. I know KAT sets some of the weakness picks/screens, but it still confuses me on who to blame on this.
It's KAT.
He never actually sets a screen
Amare almost never touched his opp on screens and yet he was elite in PnR and PnP
amare is in the top 1 percent of athletes that ever lived. you can't compare his timing and coordination to kat who has the balance of a chubby toddler who just learned to walk.

Not at all man.
It's also not like Bryant ONLY has NBA experience with the Knicks. He spent plenty of time in Utah and this year in Cleveland was pretty significant considering they were a 64-win team
Hiring Bryant also follows the recent NBA trend of hiring a very bright young coach in their mid to late 30's or early 40's

I’d say he’s my top choice followed by Bud.
Betting odds over to Brown now

I'm almost on the Jenkins bandwagon
This was one of my biggest issues with Thibs on offense. No one moved and just watched whoever had the ball.
Brunson and OG will feast with this kind of motion.

Re: Official Knicks Coaching Search Thread
Rose transformed the roster so drastically in the years Thibs was the head coach, he wasn't well suited to maximize its talents anymore. The problem is to get to the finals or dare say win a title, they will need to be a little bit better on both ends of the court than they were this past season. Good news, they were pretty close, bad news, not close enough.
I'm not sure which candidate available(or not) would be able to do the job. I guess just being able to be better than the other team in 1 game 4 times before they are better than yours in 4 different playoff series will have to be sufficient because it's not a perfect roster and not sure if they can get to that from where they are now.

If you'd rather see your team fail so you can be right
...you are a fan of your opinion not the team.

Not enough credit given to Indiana. Look what they are doing to OKC. They also beat your guys Bryant and Atkinson in the previous round before they got to us. Pacers are playing the best basketball in the league and they peaked at the right time.
Wemby in mountains with monks, what does that even have to do with us? What are we talking about right now?

Knicks had this year, maybe next, and Wemby winning the next 5 chips, at least.
But Knicks blew one year who didn't realize that Deuce provides better spacing than Josh Hart.
