Scoot and Shaedon
Suppose the Blazers packaged these two with or without expiring filler (Ayton, Simons, Thybulle). I'm not going to sell you on them because (1) I want all opinions, even negative ones and (2) I'm among the naysayers.
What would you offer to bring 'em in for a tryout?

I really like Shaedon, but his inaccuracy from distance gives me pause. I haven't really seen any improvement from Scoot, but maybe I'm missing something.
In general what are you looking for?

I'm pretty down on this draft, so it's a no unless there is a path to #2-3.

Why are you screwing us over offering our backcourt up to a field of strangers that will value neither well?
If you’re bored field some offers for Simons. Making us look bad/desperate
Somewhere trying not to offend Texas Chuck.

This flies in the face of my usual pessimism and calls for Portland to continue with a deep rebuild, but the premises here are that Portland (1) has a really good frontcourt locked in and (2) is ready to take a big swing, especially for a lead guard that vaults them into immediate playoff territory. The reason I use these two as the bait is not because I hate them (I don't) but because they are not fits on a win-now team and the idea here is that the frontcourt guys are. Why make a big splash move if it costs you Deni or Clingan, the very guys you want complementing the main man in the backcourt?
But, the return for these guys doesn't have to be some superstar and not necessarily even a guard. I just want to know what the biggest fish Portland could land would be.

Good news: I don't have the ability to trade anybody away.
It's just chatter. I'm curious about what a backcourt makeover could look like and what pieces we may not have imagined are attainable with these two on offer. It's not that serious!

Re: Scoot and Shaedon
I'll throw out my .02
Scoot is worth a late-lottery to mid 1st
Sharpe is worth mid-lottery
Scoot still has a ton of potential, the likelihood of him getting to that upper echelon has lowered since the draft 2 years ago. He showed a ton of improvement this year and, as a player playing the most difficult archetype in the NBA, his growth is a positive for me.
Scoots ceiling is far higher than just about anyone in this draft except for 4-5 guys. I'd prefer rolling the dice on Scoot over Kon Knueppel, for example.
Sharpe has shown more and still has a lot of potential. Realistically he doesn't have the same path to stardom like Scoot still does, but his floor is higher.

Disagree with Sharpes valuation with only one cheap year left and middling efficiency. I think he is worth a non lotto/later 1st like mathurin

I find it difficult to assess efficiency unless comparing context.
Sharpe has a relatively low 3PA Assist Rate and very low Corner 3PA Rate.
Compare him to R.J. Barrett, for example.
R.J. Barrett showed strides in his shooting the past 2 years, in part because he increased his volume and % from corner 3 and has 96% of his 3PA as assisted.
Why would I think a 78% FT shooter can't be a mid-to-high 30% 3P shooter in general?
Add on Portland doesn't have a lot of spacing and lacks anything remotely resembling a good on-ball creator, let alone elite, and I don't know why I would look at Sharpe's box-score and conclude he couldn't shoot.

doesn't really explain why he should be worth a lotto pick. He's at risk of becoming overpaid/the next jalen green right now

There was already a Brown thread, but with Deni, but I think something around Sharpe and 11 should be explored, as a Blazers fan. I dunno how high I am on it, but if other pieces are moved, while I like Sharpe a lot, I'm intrigued by a Sharpe+ for Brown deal.

Shopping of Sharpe/Scoot (+ picks where necessary) should be for clear upgrades or jumping up in the lottery. Brown and White both fit that bill from Portland’s end.
