I really think the Lakers found out about someone (Bam, maybe?) wanting to join them in 2025-26 that made them back out of the Mark Williams trade. If they're able to get a stud at Center, they'll be a handful. I still wouldn't call them favorites to win the West, but they'll be a much more competitive opponent with a year to gameplan with Luka, a year of coaching under Redick's belt, and a competent Center.
