What about Gafford + Salary for McCollum?

NOP fix their lack of center, Dallas get a lead guard to help till Kyrie returns.

I know I've done these to exhaustion, but both Mavs and Pistons fans seem to like it from initial suggestion

Detroit gets: Anthony Davis, Caleb Martin
Dallas gets: 2027 FRP via Det, 2029 FRP via Detroit, Jaden Ivey, Tobias Harris, Simone F, and maybe even 2025 2nd round pick from Tor

Dallas reups their draft capital while investing in an Ivey/Flagg/Lively core. Would like to use that 2nd on Tyrese Proctor from Duke. Detroit gets AD to complete a bonafide starting 5. Caleb Martin can cover minutes and make resigning THJ and Beas much less necessary

So Dallas isn't trading AD, but isn't the clear AD team, Minnesota?

You can match with Gobert/DDV/Dillingham with one min contract going to a 3rd team. Add in 17 and I think the value is about right. Dallas then turns around and flips Gobert and DDV and keeps Dillingham and 17 towards the new timeline, no? Minny can still keep 2 of Randle/Naz/NAW and doesn't feel like it has to be Randle any longer for the scoring. OR the new guys can just pay the bills and keep them all--which is what they should do.

What is the salary though? You have to add more than $16.3M. Now from the Dallas side the easy way is Klay Thompson and his $16.6M. The problem is he has another gtd year after this one and do the Pels want that on their books?

And if they trade CJ don't they need a lead guard? And without one what's the point of the veteran center?

I just don't see it for the Pels really. Definitely would be a fine option for the Mavs though.

Think it would be a Randle + Gobert + value for AD + Gafford swap. Question is how much value they need to add

If Gobert would return at leastv2 FarPs without taking on long term bad money, I suppose. I just don't see which team would be willing to do that. And wouldn't mind keeping DDV in said scenario.

I think I'm higher on Ivey than you though

Hi nolaPELSfan (NannerB_EazyPellyBoi on the Pels Talk fan forum on tigerdroppings.com).

Have you given some deep thought about Durant's desires and involvement in the team he will be traded to? I don't think the Pelicans are on his list of teams, due to the uncertainty surrounding Zion and overall low reputation of the franchise as a winning environment.

Clint Capala was/is earning around $22mil ish .... He is a UFA/Bird right on his contract, if i'm not misstaken this means not only do the Hawks have his birds rights but can match any offer any other team might throw at him right?

I just seen BS on my facebook page, saying he could be had for as little as 5.7mil? what total BS and Hawks could just match that or offer more?? please explain the BS click bait I seen, I'm assuming it's just click bait lol.

Magic, Jordan, Pippen, Duncan, Shaq

UFA means unrestricted, so Atlanta has no right to match contract offers on Capela.

Teams only have the right to see an offer sheet and legally have a right to match on restricted free agents. Those would only be players finishing their first 3 years in the league, or 4 years, if it were a 1st round pick.

Atlanta would have full bird rights, so they could legally offer Capela a contract up to his max. However, it’s also arguable that neither Capela nor Atlanta may want to continue their services together going forward.

nothing lost for him by opting out. He can go back to Denver with a slight increase if he wants.

I'm not against Dallas shipping AD, but surely they would want more than this? Although, I guess under the premise that they'd trade him at all, they aren't worried about saving face from the Luka deal.

The two timelines thing may seem unwise, but being really good for the first couple years of Flagg's development strikes me as better than accepting mediocre assets for AD.

I struggle with what AD's value is. OTOH he was just the centerpiece for Luka, but his injury history is well established and he's due a bunch of money.

I'm also higher on Gobert I think than the consensus is.

But yes, if Dallas could get more, I'll take more lol.

I think there are teams that would gamble a premium asset or more on Davis: Charlotte, Miami, Atlanta, Philadelphia, San Antonio, maybe Houston... others? Don't know what those deals look like, but I think it only takes one really attractive piece to beat that Minnesota package.

I think if the Mavs could get Gobert, DDV, Dillingham, #17, and a couple swaps out of AD, they should consider it. But I can't get over the optics of Luka cooking Gobert in the WCF a year ago, and then the Mavs indirectly trading Luka for Gobert and spare parts.
