That's a perfect deal for the Suns but the Spurs get fleeced and I don't see them doing that trade especially trading #2.

TBH this draft isn't that great. #2 can be a bust, #8 can be a bust or reach for next star.

I think this is a great trade for all parties.

Not for the Spurs. I just don't see them trading #2 but who knows it depends how bad they want Durant. Castle makes Vassell expendable.

I love this trade for the Suns. Would love to have Cam back.

Spurs would be losing like close to 5 players in that trade and get one back with the 8th pick. They would have to be busy in the free agent market after this.

Again just don't see them giving up #2 which will be Harper.

I will read it verbatim, I'm hearing Minnesota is very much in play [for Kevin Durant]"

OK, it seems that the Wolves are getting serious about trading for KD.

They can offer this package and it's pretty solid:

Gobert ($35M)
DiVincenzo ($11M)
Dillingham ($6.5M)
#17
#31
2028 swap.
2029 2nd.

I would try to trade DiVincenzo to a third team for another young player or a PF. But that's another story.

This isn't really bad or anything, overall it's decent. It gives us a starting caliber defensive center, and some solid draft capital in the 17th pick and the 31st which would be key to securing two absolute steal high end prospects in those ranges.

And again, I'd move Dillingham to another team for other key pieces, and draft assets. Lastly, getting Di Vincenzo would allow us to move either Allen or Di Vincenzo for more pieces and draft assets too. This is how we'd at least begin to replenish our asset cache.

I guess the only really key detail I'd change in this package would be the 28' swap and 29' 2nd. I don't care about getting either of those, and the 28' swap is likely to see us being worse than Minnesota anyways, I'd prefer to take out the 28' swap and then replace it with Minnesota's 2032 1st ( no protections).

But overall, this deal is fairly solid and gives us options even without McDaniels or Randles' 30 million expiring contract.

One thing to consider though would be that if getting Gobert who obviously isn't a floor spacing big in any capacity. I'd look to either aggressively trade for Markannen, or else strategically target Aldama in free agency or John Collins in trade for a much lesser cost. That way, we'd have a floor spacing big in the frontcourt to pair with Gobert as a compliment.

For me, it'll start with Payton Pritchard. But Boston is tough, they will be further into the 2nd apron next season than we were this season. This is why they are looking to offload salary. I also don't think they want KD.

It'd be tough as both teams are currently over the 2nd apron. So a 3rd team facilitator would be required. Now there has been some talk about Boston being an ideal team to take a flier on as a rental to try and keep Boston competitive for a season as Tatum heals up from his Achilles injury.

And then evaluate their situation as KDs' 54 million expiring contract would dramatically help them reduce payroll and avoid the 2nd apron penalties IF they determine that they want to go in a different direction??

Overall for my part, I'd want a package of Porzingis/ Hauser/ filler (3rd team) and some decent picks (from 3rd team that they'd send Holiday to). I'd probably look at teams like Utah, Sacramento, or maybe the magic for ideal 3rd team facilitators getting Holiday. And if necessary, we could split picks or whatever with Boston.

But they'd definitely be an ideal rental option for KD given their situation. Just like the other two teams I'd consider to he wildcard KD rental options in Toronto and Milwaukee. :D

Saberestar wrote:I want to make a comparison about potential packages from the most possible destinations for KD.

Most possible outcome is to get TWO starters/ high rotation players and then draft capital/youngsters.

Who are potentially those two players?

Spurs: Vassell and Sochan. (Barnes filler)
Rockets: Jalen Green and Jabari Smith.
Wolves: Gobert and DiVincenzo.
Heat: Wiggins and Jovic. (Duncan filler)
Raptors: Barret and Poetl.
Clippers: Powell and Derrick Jones Jr

First...I don't believe the Clippers include Zubac in the trade, but I wouldn't be shocked if he is finally offered to the Suns.

Second... I like the Raptors players because of their combination of age/health, talent and two-way potential.

Gambo said that the Heat's offer is probably the worse offer from all the teams trying to get KD. I agree because I am not a fan of Wiggins.

Regarding the Wolves...IF the Wolves add Dillingham + #17 + multiple swaps and 2nds that offer gets significantly better for the Suns.

Basically this is what I was referring to in one of my previous posts. Pretty much all of the trades are equal value, and from these on out the difference is the draft pick(s) or players added, if ther is a bit of a bidding war. After that, really only "in the eye of the beholder" stuff.
I like Barnes as filler, and he could be resigned for a good contract I believe. You have to trade Vassel. Is the 14th coming? Anything else? 2nds? Swaps?
I hate Green, and he has to be traded. What else is coming? I really like(d) Sheppard, Whitmore and Eason, so get one here. Are (our) picks coming back? If one more wing is coming you can trade one of Grayson/O'neale.
Wolves, you have to trade DiVicenzo (or Grayson). Is Dillingham coming? What picks and swaps are coming?
Heat - really meh for me with that. You can/have to trade Grayson/O'neale. What picks are coming back? Can you trade Duncan for anything or resign really cheap? If so maybe you can trade both Grayson and O'neale.
Raptors - OKish with value as its roughly same as others maybe better fit for "win now", but nothing spectacular... who is filler? are there pick(s)?
Clippers - not very good, there has to be some value fillers and picks, and you have to trade 2 of Powerll/DJJ/Greyson/O'neale. Not the end of the world, but not too easy either if you wanna get value. Everybody and their grandmother knows you cant have these 4 plus Book/Beal/Dunn, not enough time in a game for 7 (smaller) wings, even if Dunn and O'neale can masquarade as PFs for some time. But you are very likely not getting good value if you have 7 wings and you "have to" trade 2 of them...

If we manage the devil in these details we can be OK next year. Maybe even snif the play-in, depending on what we get initially and where do we take it from there.

Heat -- has to include Ware - which it won't but it would have too
Clippers - Zubac- the rest is not good
Wolves: Gobert, Dillingham and Donte plus 17. Now do I want Gobert -- no. But he would help the defense more than Randle

Rockets and Spurs - we know those teams offers --- don't want Green but probably need him in the deal to flip to a third team

The trade above is actually very good if you can convince the Spurs to drop from 2 to 8 for KD

Heat / Ware - not happening. Clippers / Zubac - not happening. I think generally teams have gotten smarter than to gut their team for an aging superstar (if KD is that after his Nets and Suns debacle). Maybe even KD wouldn't want to play for a gutted team... But he doesnt seem to care...
Wolves - yea, noone is having wet dreams about Gobert, but kinda makes sense if you have trouble (to put "being absolute dogsht" in nicer terms) with size, rebounding, rim protection, interior defense. But if you can get a decent PF or PG with trading one of Divicenzo/Grayson/O'neale then you got 2 starters a young prospect and a mid-first for KD. That's as good as it gets.
Spurs and the above trade - not sure why they would want that when they could have the same thing with the Suns and the 14th pick leaving the nets out and keeping Keldon who they could trade for another player or pick(s)... doesn't really make sense to me, and the Spurs are smarter than this.
Rockets - yea, they could throw a very intresting package if they wanted to, I just wanna make sure we do NOT have any of Green/FVV/Brooks - probably the 3 players I despise most in todays NBA for various reasons. But Jabari/Sheppard/Whitmore/Eason/(Landale as filler) + whatever picks based on the value we get of the other 2-3 players is VERY intresting, especially we can (HAVE TO please for the love of god) trade Gree/FVV/Brooks. I think the Rockets would be contenders with FVV/Whitmore/Brooks/KD/Sengun with that bench.
So I would push them hardest threatening with Wolves and Toronto... Player values would be similar, but the draft capital coming back matters.

We could sweeten the pot - add Royce O'neale to the Spurs - we get a couple future 2nd rounders.

Why would Minnesota offer Gobert? Because Randle and Reid are expected to opt out?

Who would they play at C? Gobert is a huge part of their success.

If we could get Gobert that would make us significantly better as our defense would improve tremendously.

Well if we can get our 3 picks back from Houston along with a couple Houston players, I'd prefer to rebuild...and get something else for KD.

Even with Gobert, I don't think we will finish ahead of OKC, Houston, Denver, Minnesota, GS, LAl, DAL, SA or MEM for sure, so that is 9 teams, and probably the Clippers, especially if healthy. So that is 9 or 10 teams, and even if we make the play in, I wouldn't expect to win 2 games, or even 1 (and in the case we were able to, I would expect to get swept by OKC in the first round (or anyone else that maybe could be the #1 seed, but I think they have that locked down for the foreseeable future as good as they are with as many picks as they have). And it wouldn't surprise me if the Pelicans, Blazers or Kings finish ahead of us.

I prefer the Houston trade especially if he Suns can get atleast two if not all three picks back.

We can find a taker for Green. Dallas in particular needs help in the back court. Detroit needs a legit #2. BRK, Philly and maybe even ORL need scoring from their guards.

Chatting with some Rockets fan on Twitter - he thinks the trade, post July 1 for an official date is

Brooks
Green
2 of the Suns FRP backs

If thats the deal - the Suns should be trying to flip both Green and Brooks

So that is 9 or 10 teams, and even if we make the play in, I wouldn't expect to win 2 games, or even 1 (and in the case we were able to, I would expect to get swept by OKC in the first round (or anyone else that maybe could be the #1 seed, but I think they have that locked down for the foreseeable future as good as they are with as many picks as they have). And it wouldn't surprise me if the Pelicans, Blazers or Kings finish ahead of us.

If we get our picks back than its Green and Brooks coming back. I would not watch that team unless they trade both. Just absolute sht players and human beings. I want to vomit every time I see either of them on a court. Thats a dealbreaker for me and my fandom. Good thing is - Ishbia wants a good (contending? lol) team, and that team does none if it. So he'd likely go for more money and bigger name guys, likely Gobert, etc..

I think we all can agree that having OKC involved in this would be great for us. They need to go down.

Pleasure to meet another Pacer fan on this board. There’s not many of us but we work with what we got. Go Pacers!

Wolves and other teams can offer better packages.

Wolves - only Gobert and Dillingham interest me but those are short term moves

Return to Phoenix Suns
