use Josh Hart and Mitch, and whatever picks we have left to upgrade the roster. that's at least 32.4M being sent out (+ use Kolek, Dadiet, Huk, Deuce, and can send out up to 43.7M not including potential S&T of our current cap holds)

I'd like to keep the core of Jalen, KAT, OG, and Mikal in tact one more season. it well pretty well considering how late the KAT trade occurred in the offseason, not much time to mesh

Hart, for his salary, just isn't enough of a net positive in playoff basketball where half court offense is even more important. would be tough to get rid of another Brunson ally (mitigated maybe if we can find a way to get Donte back, who'd be perfect at the 2), but they're in the endgame now, it's all about winning a ring, personal relationships be damned

Ideal fit players that make $32.4 million or less :
- Immanuel Quickly 32.5
- Khris Middleton $31.6
- Jrue Holiday $30
- Jerami Grant $29.7
- Jordan Poole $29.6
- RJ BARRET $25.7
- Jaren Jackson $25.2
- Jonathan Isaac $25
- DeMar DeRozen $23.4

I have no clue how we can make it work salary wise without destroying our depth, nor do I know if I want the long term contract, but Jrue Holiday would be awesome next to Brunson. He’s a true secondary ball handler with enough playmaking skills to incorporate some Brunson off ball into the offense, while also being a great on ball backcourt defender and shooter.

i love the idea of holiday. especially what he has been. looked kinda cooked this season. wouldn't want his money on my books for the next 3 seasons.
RIP magnumt

thanks for everything, thibs.

Ew. Trade doesn't need to be over complicated. Mikal for JJJ. Done.

It has to be because JJJ is a higher rated asset than Mikal and hes a big. The moment you trade him for Mikal they have no bigs. Even as is they might say no cause in reality JJJ is more valuable than a lesser valued SG, a C that gets hurt every year and Pacome. But ya never know. They may see the depth as more valuable, w/ a chance to develop a raw but high potential prospect.

Mikal, Dadiet, WAS 1st, three 2nd round picks and the rights to Rokas. That assumes MEM is looking to make wholesale changes... maybe they move on from Ja and JJJ but something tells me they'll either run it back or try to swap Ja for someone else (Trae Young)?

I explain above why I wouldn't keep Hart: his lack of half court offense in a hindrance during playoffs. As for Mitch, he's on an expiring deal, and w/ this teams cap situation, they need to send out an equal amount of $ as they get in return. Gotta give to get

Divo (or keeping McBride) is your counterbalance to Hart and a new coach probably won't force feed Hart as much as Thibs tried to do.

I'd just rather keep Mikal, OG, and KAT, and don't prioritize Hart because the only thing he does at an elite level is rebound, which, while important, can be replaced for cheaper than his ~19M/yr salary. I'd rather give Bruce Brown the taxpayer ML

we need to trade salary to get anything in return, and Hart's contract gives them flexibility

Knicks will probably just run it back with a few tweaks. Hope they can build some strong chemistry with a new coach.

I still think Hart should be moved now. His value will likely never be higher, and if he isn’t a starter he is going to be overpaid based on production.

Get some more serviceable bench players and were good. Still not a fan of Mikal but will keep him for now unless we get good trade value for him....

What do you guys think of Westbrook? He's well liked by most of his teammates, can provide leadership and spark off the bench.

Evan Sidery
@esidery

A Kevin Durant trade now could occur by the end of this weekend, per @ShamsCharania on @PatMcAfeeShow.

The Heat, Rockets and Timberwolves are submitting their final offers to the Suns.

Negotiations with Phoenix are going very quickly as they want a firm solution by the draft.

While I recognize a KD trade (depending on what is given up) could be phenomenal short term, I prefer the risk level of quite a few other options instead.

Looks like Knicks and Spurs dropped out of the KD talks. Suns probably have a very high asking price and Knicks don’t have the assets to land him while Spurs not wanting to give in to the demands.

Houston has the better young pieces if that’s the direction they want to go in
