Memphis - Dallas

Post#1 » by Godaddycurse » Fri Jun 13, 2025 4:17 am

Memphis trade: JJJ, Clarke, Konchar, filler, 2026 1st
Dallas trade: AD

Why for Memphis: acquire a 1B to Morant and push to win now
Why for Dallas: still 2 timeline but JJJ is younger and is a DPOY caliber stretch big

If rather have JJJ and a first than an aging AD

I'd rather have JJJ than Davis straight up given age and health issues. Plus, Harrison just traded Luka for him, unless he is moving on too, I don't think he deals Davis away though I agree he should.

I don’t think it’d be the end all-be all part of the trade but it could be hard to justify the Edey pick if you immediately trade the team’s floor spacing star PF for a center who can’t really play with him too much.
Rest in peace Mamba. There'll never be another Kobe.

Too good for my Mavs. JJJ's next contract is scary to think about, but he's younger and works much harder than AD. Dallas should do it if offered, but Memphis wouldn't

This feels like the move you make if contract talks with JJJ have hit a major snag. Otherwise I'm also not seeing this one for Memphis.

For Dallas, it at least allows Niko to still claim defense and now he can say he's just realigning with Cooper Flagg.

1st should go the opposite way if we want to discuss a fair offer

Dont think JJJ as an expiring/on a 30% max is worth more

I am assuming you don’t based on OP.

Dallas isn't giving up a pick for this swap, and Memphis shouldn't do it without. Hence don't think it's salvageable

Edey's presence should absolutely not stop the Grizzlies from upgrading at the position if they have an opportunity. I know he was a top ten pick, but it was a top ten pick in a terrible draft.
