Garland & Allen are Pelzicans
Herb Jones, Yves Missi, Dejounte Murray, Jose Alvarado, '26 Indy 1st
for
Darius Garland, Jarrett Allen, Chuma Okeke
Dejounte/Donovan/Herb/Mobley/Missi
Jose/Strus/Okoro/Wade/Hunter
Garland/Zion/Murphy/#7/Allen
Elf/Boston/Okeke/Karlo/KellyO
Cleveland does it to get a young J.A.-like player on a cheap rookie deal, to get 2 defenders on either side of Mitchell (1 on a great value for 2 yrs), and a great backup PG for while Murray is out.
The Pels do it intending to play Z at the 2, and have Garland and Murphy on either side of him for optimal spacing and optimal amount of secondary creation surrounding him. They also get a starting center they can count on who is already developed, tempting as it is to develop the promising Yves Missi for themself.

Re: Garland & Allen are Pelzicans
I know yall want #7 but i personally wouldnt give it, and i wouldnt give like 3 1sts plus original or anything either. I Would do Indy 1st, then on top of the original trade i'd add whichever is the MIL swap year- just the swap rights, and one other future unprotected NOP 1st. That would be max offer personally:
Herb Jones, Yves Missi, Dejounte Murray, Jose Alvarado, '26 Indy 1st, '26 best b/t CLE/NOP/MIL, '28 NOP unprotected
thasgotta be close
(prolly too much in my prolly biased opinion)

Re: Garland & Allen are Pelzicans
Murray himself you'll have to give up a 1st to get rid of. He might never be the same player ever again. Plus getting Allen and Garland?
Personally I'd say no even IF you included the #7 pick. Thats the kinda of trade that they'd send for Giannis, not Herb Jones and Missi...

It would take Mobley to get Giannis (without gutting the team). I would include #7 in lieu of the other picks, i'd just rather not, but i'd imagine that would get it done.

Murphy needs to be in the deal to get Cleveland to consider a trade of this magnitude.

I think Garland and Murphy are comparable in value, with Garland being only worth slightly more, as in not worth Murphy + a package.

Not a chance Cleveland does this.

Assuming Murphy and a pick gets you Garland, how you paying for Allen?

Re: Garland & Allen are Pelzicans
Replace Alvarado with Murphy and I think it becomes interesting for Cleveland.
Bring back Brown and draft a wing (lets say Kneuppel).
Garland/Brown/Kneuppel/Zion/Allen
That is a fun lineup and New Orleans has the Bucks picks to restock as they go.
Mitchell/Murphy/Jones/Wade/Mobley
And Cleveland builds a nasty defensive team.

Am I reading this correctly, your goal is to have a Darius Garland/Zion Williamson backcourt?
Well at least we're not Detroit!

If it fails on the basketball court, they could have a hit Odd Couple type sitcom on their hands!

Could use the #7 on a guard instead of a big, thats what it comes down to really, but i don't mind it. We would have to rotate Zion down on defense is all.

this is a bit crazier, but how about
Murphy/Herb/Missi/McCollum
for
Garland/Allen/Hunter
?

I think this is more interesting and could be balanced. I like the Hunter inclusion to help offset the forward depth NOP loses.

Hunter is really good. Remove him and CJ and we have the foundation for a deal I would consider as a Cavs fan.

Something around Murphy / Herb for Garland / Allen could make sense. Maybe rub in a little Jrue to cleveland boston salary dump spice.

Issue here is that Cleveland can’t take Murphy AND McCollum in this deal.
But also that I have Garland > Murphy, Allen > Herb, and Hunter > McCollum.
