He is so clutch.

Thank you Tommy Sheppard for not drafting him…

The Gizzards unfortunately will never reach these levels of greatness.

Pacers are just relentless. Pretty easy to root for them… though I like OKC too

Pacers again demonstrate the genius of Don Meredith

Of the ABA's eight championships, Pacers were in five, winning three. Haven't had too much success since then, although the Reggie era was pretty fun. Still pretty easy to root for the only major franchise in the state that wasn't brought in by the owners in the middle of the night as hot merchandise, especially going against a franchise also stolen from its fanbase by its owners. I like the Thunder players and game a lot, and really love a championship minus the usual suspects and featuring younger stars. Still would love to see Pacers take it to seven games and maybe even win. (Not betting on a sweep, but wouldn't that be crazy?)

Not to be contradictory, but you could actually make an argument that the Pacers have had a ton of success from the '80s on. They may not have won a championship, but they're pretty much always sniffing around the playoffs. Do you know the last time the Pacers made a top 5 pick in the draft? 1988. Took Rik Smits at #2. Compared to the rest of the teams in the NBA, that's totally absurd. They've only come close to the title a couple of times, but they've never sucked, either.

You're quite right, I should have phrased that differently. They are a great example of a small market team without the ability to attract top-tier FAs that has generally been competitive year in and year out through smart drafting, good coaching, defense and team play. They have in fact been to the EC Finals ten times since 1994 (a bit more than my team has in the same time frame :D ), so even if they were rarely a serious contender, they have frequently been a long shot contender. With so many good young players, maybe they'll get over the hump in the near future and finally win an NBA title. Whichever team wins, these are some future-leaning teams.

Another good game. Both these teams would beat the Wiz by 50.

Another thrilling Pacers team win. Great blocks from Toppin and Turner late.

Turner with a poor shooting game makes some nice defensive plays. IND looking more and more plausible for a chip,

Wiz hope one of their youngins can become another Mathurin, and Sarr can play like Chet.

Just noticed a game or 2 ago that the Sihk guy who
used to sit under the TOR basket has become a Pacer fan.
He must like Siakem I guess. He got famous for throwing a
towel up during FTs until they made him stop.

How did Williams not break his entire hip, spine, butt, everything else on that fall.

OKC looks like it's closing it out at the end here. Another good game, well-played. Hope this series goes 7 - would be a welcome distraction from world events.

Turner is a frustrating player to watch. He does great things, but the man can't rebound worth a damn. Tallest dude on the court and you're getting 2-3 rebounds from him.
Bickerstaff: who's up for kickball?!!
Ed Wood: Only if it's the no-pants variety.
