The online discourse is above-avg histrionic w/ this one. Both teams play defense with their hands, but the Thunder are stronger and the Pacers are less disciplined, and Pacers fans just don't like that. Even so the FT discrepancy was close, despite Pacers shooting WAY more from outside -- three times the 3-point attempts.

Playoffs-long Pacers illegal screens (Siakam), flops (Naismith), hand-checking (Naismith, Nemhardt), crying (Tyweep) are ignored.

And naturally, the double-standard w/ the Knicks reffing from last series is lost on them. Not that we played great or deserved to win, but I heard no complaints when Pacers were allowed to "Thunder" us. Pacers fans on the General Board are mostly cool, but the stadium fans are demonstratively dumb, and other online communities are losing their ever-loving minds as if this is the greatest example of corrupt officiating. Knicks fans wish we got their whistle.

Good post. Yeah, if the Thunder win this series, IND will have wished they played more disciplined in the 2nd half of this game.

holy smokes that was fun. Think about them what you want, but I love watching the Pacers af for the last two years.
Probably most important win in franchise history for OKC.

You really have to give it to the Pacers. They are playing really really well and since they don't have a real go to scorer, I picture it is super difficult to get stops against them.

I'll honestly admit I thought OKC would be better in this game...didn't expect them to trail for 3,5 quarters just to squeeze it out at the end.

Damn guys, we really really were kind of super close this year to winning a title. In my mind I had put game 1 past me because I thought we'd stand zero chance against OKC but the way this series has gone so far it seems like if we won game 1 we could of been here and have truly competed for the title. I'm still not too upset because I genuinely feel we didn't really outplay any of the 3 teams we played and that our style of offense (Iso heavy) would have played into OKC's hands but still....really didn't expect the series to be this close. The Pacers really were on the verge of going up 3-1. The most surprising thing for me is the number of wide open threes that OKC is giving up...I really really didn't expect this. I thought they'd do a much better job defending the 3.

I know knick fans traditionally hate the Heat and Pacers but outside of Haliburton whom I just don't like...I really can't hat any of the Pacer players. I feel like almost every single one of their role players would be a fan favorite in NY if he were to play here.....like McConnel, Nembhard, Nesmith, Turner would all be celebrated here.

I don’t know how anyone can root for the Thunder, it’s a fake team stolen from Seattle.

I don’t think we match up with OKC as well as IND does. IND is playing their best basketball of the season right now and they are a true 5-out team that is really hard to defend. They’re bending and breaking that OKC defense in ways we wouldn’t be able to do.

Against NYK, OKC would load up on JB and KAT and pack that paint while forcing 20+ turnovers a game and Hart getting 40 minutes a game. It would have been a gentleman’s sweep with Thibs at the helm and you damn well know it.

Absolutely, it's why I'm not that upset. My frustration is more theoretical - with a more flexible/adaptive/innovative coach, I believe this Knicks team could be playing the underdog role of the Pacers right now, but better.

Why did haliban not pass the ball to siakim at all in the 4th quarter? Big reason they loss the game along with mathurin choke and lopsided officiating
