Cody Williams
Heat get a player who actually does what they hoped Rozier would do. Plus take Williams who had a brutal rookie year but was just a lottery pick and he has the bloodlines.
Jazz punt on a pick bust to try again with a full four rookie years. Or its ammo to move up or push a pick back. I know having b2b picks here isn't ideal, but we are all creative to know there are options.

Re: Heat/Jazz
I like this. Heat get a good player and a "second draft" kinda guy. Utah gets to keep adding to the youth vault. Miami fans may not like it if they rate Cody as truly a bust.
EDIT: I guess in saying I like this for Utah I am also calling Cody a bust, though. They are just shuffling him off for the next prospect here.
I guess we need to know what to make of Cody Williams. Thoughts?

Re: Heat/Jazz
I prefer the Collins/Sexton for Rozier/Robinson/20 deal. I don't think I'd do this. Williams really sucks, but I don't think you give up on a lottery pick quite like this. I'd do Williams for a first straight across, but not to slightly increase the return for Sexton. Value is probably fine given what he has shown, just don't think it works directionally.

Re: Heat/Jazz
They can keep Cody if they still believe in him. I love Sexton for Rozier and 20. Resign Mitchell and use him next to Herro with Sexton and Larsson off the bench. Cut Robinson and sign cheap minimum guys.
Pg: Mitchell / Sexton
Sg: Herro / Larsson
Sf: Wiggins / Highsmith / Jacquez
Pf: Bam / Jovic / Anderson
Cc: Ware /
I'd obviously prefer a star in there, not short of that, I'm great with this deal.

Good thinking, just take Cody out.

Cody's been awful. Legitimately the worse rook in the league last year even though Bronny took most of that heat. Then again there was totally zero structure in Utah last year as they were more concerned about losing games. The fan base wanted him in games so they could lose. The kid should've been developing down in the G league but was thrown into NBA minutes before he was ready. His confidence got shook and teammates started to ignore him on the court. Now there is a report that two scouts in Utah apparently got fired due to the Cody pick.
I don't know if he's salvageable as a prospect. He seems awful timid on the court. Getting out of Utah and into a different culture wouldn't hurt. Miami fans wouldn't have the same expectation for a "2nd draft guy" as Jazz fans did for him as a lottery pick. I just wouldn't have expectations that he will be contributing next season at the NBA level. I would treat him as a new rookie coming into the league. Start from scratch working on fundamentals in the G league. If Miami has that type of patience then sure he's worth a gamble.

This is the point where I remind myself yet again that I wanted the Jazz to move up in the draft last year because I was worried that Williams would be gone by the 10th pick. Oof. I'm still at the point where I wouldn't move him as a throw in though.

Think it's way too early to call Cody a bust

Unless the off-court signs are just terrible I can't see Utah doing this.

Probably but I dunno man. He stunk at Colorado and he stunk as an NBA rookie. But he's still one year away from being the 10th pick.
