Playoff Rondo shot under 40% from the field in that series. The only Laker role player who "got hot" was Morris who shot 40% from 3. AD shooting over 40% from 3 was a killer too. The only Lakers who broke 40% overall on any actual volume were LeBron, AD and Caruso.

AD hobbled or not plays all 6 games. Bam your third best player plays 4 and your second best player Goran plays 2 games. Neither one healthy for more than a game and half at best. I'm gonna confidently say Miami's injury issues played a bigger factor in how that series plays out than AD playing with a limp for a couple of quarters.

Love Dragic, he wasn’t better than Bam in 2020 lol. I agree with your other points on injury though, they definitely played a factor

He was in the bubble

Depends how much you value defense and non-scoring offensive activity. They were both critical for the run and served in their roles impeccably while adding some more where needed.

The jig is up, The Godfather loses again.

If this is the case, that means 1) Durant prefers playing with Ant over anyone on Houston or Miami and 2) Phoenix actually likes the idea of paying Gobert $40M/season to be a bum.

If Andy (wisely) draws the line at Ware, I wonder if Heat fans will chalk it up as another FO couldnt close the deal or acknowledge its smart asset mgt

Depends how you feel about Ware. I think best-case for him is Porzingis/Brook Lopez. In other words, a borderline all-star. Excellent when you consider where he was drafted and it wasn't exactly expected, but not someone you make untouchable.

I do get that Durant is 37 and Miami really has no other legit center. But if Miami's goal is to compete for a championship, Ware isn't going to put Miami in that position in the next 2-3 years; Durant gives Miami a much better shot at it.

My big thing would be both Wiggins and Ware cannot go out. So the package has to be either:

Wiggins, Rozier, Jaquez/Jovic, and #20

OR

Robinson, Rozier, Ware, and whatever other throw-in is needed for salary purposes.

Holding firm on no Ware. Good work.

You cant create an imbalance to add a 37 year old KD. We need everything Ware possesses to win a chip with Durant.

Minnesota is in the running because KD wants to play with Ant over any of the other options. Not sure Minny can make a deal work tho.

Need to nab KD and have him sell Ant on Heat culture.

Don’t worry, snagging KD is just step 1 of a greater plan.

Agreed. Any false narratives of "I can't believe Heat fans think Ware is better or going to be better than current KD" are bad faith arguments.

Aside from actually watching it all unfold and knowing that Bam was crucial to everything Miami was doing (defensive end always somehow going underappreciated), every advanced stat tells a story of Bam's impact clearing.

Both of Miami's recent finals runs were complete team efforts with everyone in the pecking order standing up to their duty and exceeding in crucial moments.

All of the T Wolves space is all unrealized. Naz Reid and Randle are going to wait till the very last minute on there opts out. If they let Reid walk that’s a huge blow. If they resign him they lose flexibility. Randle most likely opts in but waits till July 1st to weigh his options. BK doesn’t need to trade for him as a 3rd party when they can just sign him outright.

Exactly and not even trying to knock Dragic but we don’t have to go back and try to rewrite history and pretend Bam wasn’t our 2nd best player. Idk what it is with this fanbase and wanting to diminish everything he’s ever done in a Heat jersey but that was the 2nd time I’ve seen someone say Dragic was better that year in the last few weeks so I dug into it and it very clearly was not the case. Dragic absolutely was our 3rd best player though.

Let’s wrap this thing up today or tomorrow and keep it moving. We have a roster to fill out.
