Durant, Herro, and Bam are a formidable trio, but why does Phx do this w/o Ware being involved. He fits a young big they desire.

It seems like Houston would have to eat into their core identity too much for a 36yo Durant. Timberwolves would need to involve Randle and something else of worth but is that enough for KD? Spurs would have to include Fox, which seems unwise to trade a 27yo good player + another piece for 1-2 years of old KD. Especially since Spurs likely want to build for a window of 5-7 years.
I'm just not really sure what KD's value is that this point. As a Thunder fan, I might do Hartenstein/Joe/Topic and some 2nds but I'm guessing that's not enough. I don't want to give up any of their top 8-9 players (except Hartenstein would have to be included for salary matching) and I don't want to give up any 1sts.
New York is not giving up bridges Robinson and hart for KD.

I’m gonna say Miami. Something along the lines of Wiggins/Robinson/Jaquez/#20/2029 1st (unp).
2025-2026 Philadelphia 76ers:
Maxey/McCain/Lowry
Grimes/Edgecombe/Gordon
Oubre/Edwards
George/Watford/Barlow
Embiid/Bona/Drummond/Broome

Re: Official: Where does KD end up next week?
HOU is the only team that makes sense. SAS is a pipe dream, they would have to give up too much, i'm not trading Castle or Harper for KD at this point. Wemby/Castle/Harper is a fantastic core moving forward, i'm not messing with that.
HOU is the best scenario imo like most people are saying. Jabari, Brooks, and the lottery pick is going to be a hard offer for teams to beat.
HOU keeps ending up in all my T&T posts because they can make a deal like this, and still make a follow up move for another veteran difference maker.
Sengun- Adams
KD
Amen- Cam
Green- Tari
Fred- Reed
Unite KD with Green and Adams from the OKC days, and look to make another move probably involving Green or Reed.
MIA makes a ton of sense, but what do they have to trade? If either Bam or Herro goes out the trade simply isn't worth it, and I doubt Wiggins/Rozier is something the Suns would be interested in.
Pistons would be the funnest team who could give a similar base offer like HOU (Tobias, Holland) but I boubt it happens.
Spurs fans, do yall really want to go all in with KD and Fox?

Wiggins, Jaquez plus 2 1sts is a pretty good return for Durant at this stage tbh

either Sas, Hou, MIN, or NYK/MIA in the east.
Also potentially okc if they lose the finals
if none of those, than DEN or gsw

No scenario where Utah wants Durant.

Re: Official: Where does KD end up next week?
I think people will be surprised by how little of a return Durant garners. He'll be 37 by the time the season starts, and hasn't proven he can be a winner outside of Golden State, which was already a proven winner without him. As a Wolves fan, I don't want him at all, but if they were to trade for him, I would be annoyed if they gave up more than the equivalent of what Miami offered.

I agree. I also think that a Vassell, Barnes and 14 blows this out of the water. Yet when we offered 14 Suns are looking around for a better deal. That can't possibly be it. Heat have a late 1st. Just boggles the mind that's some sort of quality package.

Orlando Magic are the sneaky team that could come out of nowhere and snatch him up. Take a risk like the raptors did with kawhi and go for the chip next year.

No chance of that.

Re: Official: Where does KD end up next week?
The Heat make the most sense if they are willing to give up Kel'el Ware + Andrew Wiggins + Duncan Robinson.
Works for Phoenix because it gives them the centre they want plus some usable players on short contracts. Robinson is expiring and Wiggins only goes one more season, they get out of the tax plus fill a positional hole.
The Heat get the player they want in KD, they have enough players they can lose both Robinson (largely benched in the play-in) and Wiggins (a bit disappointing post Butler trade). Long term losing Ware is a blow given how promising his first season has been, but realistically they have to give up something of value to get KD.
KD is happy because he goes to an Eastern Conference warm weather no-state tax city.
