2. Some of your list are SGs who can play PG but should not. Herro and Simons for example.
3. Good luck acquiring Haliburton, Maxey, Garland without giving up key players.
4. Jalen Suggs has been available in 211 games in his 4 year career. 82x4 =328. 211/328 =0.643. In that time he has had one season shooting above 32% from deep, and it was not last season. I single him out because he is the only player on this list who I would say excels off ball and can defend at a high level.
I think DJM is probably the best fit on this list, but his injury means he will not be DJM in 25/26 and that means next season would be handicapped.
1. You limited the criteria to guys who don't need the ball and had to be between 25-27(even though Murray will be 29).
2. I just sorted by PG on RGm stats and they had those listed, point is they are the main ballhandler, Murray also played SG the 2 seasons prior to this one.
3. We'd have to give up key players for DJM as well because of his >$30m price tag.
4. Ok, but I'm saying Murray can't do either of those things, he would cost assets(and be paid over $30m), and he's coming off of a major injury and will miss a good chunk of the upcoming season.
1. Fair. Though I did say he was older than what I wanted and that he would be cheaper because of the injury. It would depend on the deal, but Randle for DJM would probably bring a first or two back our way, or expand the deal and get us another PG as well. Just depends on how it is structured.
2. Look how well things went for their teams. We need a legit PG, something DJM has proven he can play.
3. See point 1.
4. DJM’s 3 point percentage has been below average multiple years. His volume is also lower than I would prefer. But he has never played with a player the caliber or commanding the gravity or Ant Edwards. We have also seen DJM play well off ball with Atlanta. I will grant you he is better on ball, but he can play off. His defense has been up and down, but I believe playing on a winning and defensive focused team he could step up.
It doesn’t have to be DJM. We need a starting PG and good backcourt partner for Ant. We need him to be at or near his prime when Ant enters his prime, to be affordable, and to be acquired for no more than the cost of Randle and either DDV or Dilly. That is a short list.
