I'm not buying the Raptors interest in Durant himself - I think they're just trying to get a seat at the table to either piggyback into the deal, or at least pick up some intel about what other teams are doing.

Blue Jay fans should already be famillar with chasing the "big fish".

leverage by who and for what purpose?
and if we were used as leverage wouldn't we be in the list of 5 shams mentioned. if the point of the leverage is to get a better return and or for durant to insist on getting an extension. wouldnt putting raptors and other on there jack up the price and increase his chances of an extension.

I think our interest is real but with two caveats :

- Durand probably does not want to come here
- Maybe Masai could use the negotiations to gauge the value on some of his player

Suggs is definitely the modern day 3 and D type of PG you want. I would consider an IQ and Dick for Suggs and Isaac plus 16 type of deal.

Suggs you got the injury risk, but he is a heck of a PG and has that D White potential. Isaac was a Unicorn defensively and is right up there with the best defenders when healthy. I would take a flyer on the guy. However it scares the crap out of me to think that Suggs, BI and Isaac are all guys that can miss 30-40 games a season.

Lonzo Ball would be a better and less risky option in my mind.

Cole Anthony is like another Mike James for those that have been here long enough to remember.

Making about 30mil AAV for the next 4 seasons. I can live with that contract.

He's the perfect 3&D guy to insert into our starting lineup.

Replacing RJ with White is a significant upgrade.

The only way the Celtics are trading White is with an overpay, which he's not worth, or the desperation to get under the tax means he's the player and not Brown who gets the Nets cap space.

This is why if I'm the Nets I'm fully leveraging the entire league with that space to extort as much value.

Where is the homerun? KD wont make us contenders and you have still a problem at C.Maluach doesnt mean everything is ok on that front as he will not be able to play at a level needed to win and we still would need a backup.

I was happy for Lonzo's sake to finally come back from injury this season. But is he really a good bet to stay healthy going forward, any more than Suggs/Isaac/ Ingram?
