New York - Sacramento - Dallas

Post#1 » by Godaddycurse » Sun Jun 15, 2025 2:45 am

Sacramento trade: Monk, Derozan, 2026 1st
Sacramento receive: OG, Hardy

New York trade: OG
New York receive: Derozan, Washington, 2026 SAC 1st

Dallas trade: Washington, Hardy
Dallas receive: Monk

Why for Sacramento: get an elite defender at the 3/4 to complement sabonis
Why for New York: Turn OG into better depth/playmaking and a potentially valuable pick
Why for Dallas: Add a playmaking guard

I like it. But this deal, like any deal posted involving DeRozan will get obliterated because he doesn’t space or defend, and the fact that he scores and gets to the line at a high rate isn’t acknowledged.

I think he would be a great 6th man for knicks..

Agreed, he’d take a ton of pressure off Brunson and they have the length and defenders to support his shortcomings defensively.

I don’t think the Knicks should trade Annunoby. He was their best two way player at certain times in the playoffs, and he is the prototypical hard-nosed Knicks player. They should keep him.

Honestly I'm just doing the monk for PJ deal. I don't think that OG is worth derozan, monk, and a 1st. That just seems like too much, feels like this really under values DeRozan and the 1st round pick.

Derozan and a 1st could be used to get the kings a point guard in addition to monk for PJ Washington.

Id prefer to tank.
If not id prefer to use the 27 spurs 1st and 31 minnesota 1st instead of our own.

But OG is a good target. Removes our overlap for a position of massive need. Still need a pg after this and not really sure how you get one. Guess MLE

I'd much prefer PJ at 1/3 the price of OG if I was the Kings.

No way in heck Mings give up an unprotected first in next years draft for OG.

He’ll be angry and basically play the same injury game he did for a lotto team in TOR.

There are parts of this deal I like for the Knicks - mainly adding another shot creator off the bench. Any maybe my expectations are too high, but I kind of would want a wow package to move OG.

My counter would be something like Monk, PJ Washington SAC 26 1st and MIN 31 1st for OG. SAC would need to figure out how to flip DeRozan for PJ (which I can see Dallas doing with Flagg taking PJ’s role and the need for another shot creator if they get some value back).

NY can then flip those 2 picks for Walker Kessler

Brunson/Bridges/Washington/Towns/Kessler
McBride/Monk/Hart/Robinson

Ideally - you have a follow up trade to move Hart for an SG and move Bridges back to SF - but overall this team is more balanced.

So Dallas goes from getting Monk and dumping Hardy to taking on more salary in DD because NY wants them to? That seems unlikely that Dallas takes a worse deal because you want more for OG when Dallas isn't getting OG.

Seems like you need to try getting more value from the team getting him. You just changed the whole deal for Dallas without giving them incentive to do so.

The Knicks would love this, and since you are a Knicks fan, I get why you love this.

But think of the other two teams.

Count me as someone else who thinks PJ's probably just as valuable as OG, especially when you take into account contracts (even after PJ gets paid, he'll be making 50-60% of OG's money). If im SAC, i cut the Knicks out and do the simple Monk-PJ swap while eating Hardy
