Still not as bad as 5 for Mikal. They would need to trade 2 picks to get off KCP and Cole anyway and the swap is probably the one they owe the Grizzlies next year. Memphis is doing this just to turn around and do this same thing with JJJ.

The only bad one are the first round picks in 28 & 30( but isn't that point have having trade capital). This year pick doesn't matter much cause they still have pick 25. And the Phoenix pick wasnt originally there's. So it's really just 2, first round picks.

The players involved were nothing really just salary.

Bane is exactly what the magic needed. They keep there fore and get a 4th banana. I think this is a good kivem

Bane is better than Mikal and NYC made the ECF. If Orlando makes the same “mistake” to be a final 4 team I think they’ll survive.

Even with the multiple pick price, I’m still 100% sold on this from an Orlando POV. An area we are in absolutely desperate need of, whilst keeping hold of our core 3 guys, and still having picks to utilize in the future.

Four firsts on the basis seems a lot, but one of them is our pick in this years draft, which we would otherwise presumably be using on a guy who isn't going to be seeing much time on the floor, and 2 of them are in 2028/2030 where we would still (hypothetically) have Franz/Paolo playing at a super high level.

Completely understand as to why some may balk at the “four firsts” headline but I think this is an excellent move. Maybe I’m just delighted that we finally made a trade. Who knows?

Orlando needs a point of attack point guard that can breakdown defenses and stretch the floor.

Having Desmond Bane doesn't solve that problem.

Orlando doesn't see value in point guard play whatsoever. They traded for an SG archetype that can be had for cheap.

KCP and Cole are bad contracts. Minnesota and New York straight up traded expirings and or rookies for their overpays so it doesn’t make the trade as bad.
