Looks like we can put the Simons/Sexton/Poole ideas to bed.
Love the talent but not the 4 picks.

I was hoping and expecting this to be one of the first replies. You did not disappoint. Jroy have it all.

Wow that's A LOT to give up.
Suns pick swap gone, 16# pick gone, 2028 first round pick gone, 20230 first round pick gone (all unprotected)
lite pick protection on pick swap for 2029.
Well i guess time is now for Orlando.

That is type of deal to get i don't know, prime Steph Curry...
Desmond SUCKED big time in playoffs this year, and isn't PG. At least not full time playmaker, but can pass.

Wtf.
We are NEVER going to have a point guard in this franchise?
I like Bane, don't get me wrong. But I think this was a huge payout for a non PG.
I am confused.

Re: Official 2025-2026 Magic Trade ideas thread
Nothing here without some basis of rumors and obvious fits...
#1: (DAL rumored to be interested in getting into late first round and in need of a PG to hold it down while Kyrie heals per Raphael Barlowe)
ORL sends: Cole Anthony ($13.1m TO/expiring), #25 ...Cole's had his best season with the ball in his hands. Lively makes Gafford expendable. FRP.
DAL sends: Daniel Gafford ($14.4m expiring)
#2: (Poole rumored to ORL, Poole clearly interested in ORL)
ORL sends: KCP($21.6m, one addtl year), Goga Bitadze ($8.3m, one addtl year-descending), Caleb Houstan ($2.2m expiring), #57 and 26 ORL srp
WAS sends: Jordan Poole (31.8m, one addtl year)
Why WAS...KCP adds defensive vet identity & influence to young team as well as a sound basketball fit next to young PGs and high draftee. Easily flippable at TD to a contender or, at least, as an expiring next year. Goga offers inexpensive young bruiser next to and, eventually, behind Sarr. Houstan offers large young sniper prospect on an expiring vet min to spread the floor (no risk to take a look). Largest value is to take Poole out of the way of their young ballhandlers (Carrington, Johnson, Fears?) and break up his large contract for flexibility going forward.
ORL selects Jase Richardson at #16, Ryan Nembhard at #46, Declines CoJo, Harris, and Moe...re-signs Moe for $8m x 2 yrs. Perhaps even re-sign Harris for vet min?
Gafford, WCJ, (Moe)
Paolo, WCJ, Isaac
Franz, Isaac, TdS
Suggs, AB, Jett
Poole, Richardson, Nembhard
Gafford/WCJ is a strong C combo and WCJ might unlock more of his offensive bag playing with second unit. He's versatile enough to play with Moe and/or Isaac in the frontcourt. After a good long look at how the two work together, decisions could be made about moving WCJ before his extension hits and Gafford's upcoming contract (which will probably be in the neighborhood of WCJ's)...letting Moe go might also be part of the agenda if cap pressures make it the most viable, if painful, direction. A Richardson/Black second unit backcourt sounds very intriguing and complementary. For a mid-srp, Nembhard's promise of leadership, good decision-making, maturity and versatility make him a good bet to be a smaller version of his brother - but (potentially) a better all-around version of something like Tyus Jones. This team contends in the East NOW and then watches the lottery next summer like a tank team, in the hopes of a Len Bias level opportunity to take another leap.

I don’t dislike Bane, and wholeheartedly agree that giving up the amount of draft capital is a huge overpay, but the lack of savvy by our FO is awful. How do you, at that price, not try and get Pippin Jr. and/or Huff on low end deals?!

Weltman gets his aşş handed to him yet again. I don't see why you can't wait and see what actual PGs shake loose. At that price, they could habe snagged somebody who can initiate.

You guys are never happy. LOL. The talent exceeds a lot on our team already. Yes we gave up a lot of picks but we’re going to be in the playoffs for the next 10 years so they are all worthless honestly.

Bane is on a different level in my opinion.
