I don't think it's guaranteed the Suns will completely suck. I don't see them as contenders by any means, but it seems like they're going to try to be a playoff team. Their top heavy talent didn't mix, and it was a big bust for them. But they'll get something back for Durant and still have Booker and Beal. It's not like they will be so devoid of talent that they just can't win a game. It will probably be a decent pick, but I don't think they're landing super high in the draft without another lottery miracle.

I assume they can get Castle + Barnes + 2( 3? / 2025 pick, can't recall what they have) or Wiggins + Ware , regardless there is very little chance that Suns can be competitive on this West.

Plus, both Blazers and Spurs will surpass them this year, making them at best tie for 12# best team in conference. There is no chance in hell they can make playoffs.

I really like Bane for this team, he fits one of our main needs. 4 unprotected firsts maybe a bit much but Weltman has banked on us being a very good team from next season, so hopefully the will end up being what no better than pick 19? I did like us having the Suns picks so it's a shame to see that being shipped out.

Overall I'm a fan of the trade but would expect more moves to be made.

The West is tough. Phoenix would have to get back something really useful. With that said they don't own any of their picks so its not like they can tank. They kind of have to play it out, unless they could get their picks back from Houston (for Durant or Booker)

I don't like the comparison to the Ibaka trade at all. We gave up Oladipo in that trade, an actual good young player we had used the #2 pick on. And Ibaka was brought in basically to be our best player, which is laughable. In this trade, we're not really giving up any existing players, only theoretical future players. Which are valuable, but the point is, I don't think these two trades are comparable at all.

Not only is this a horrible trade but if Orlando get a starting point guard we are going to have either Suggs or Bane’s making $30million+ coming off the bench.

Suggs is the "Point Guard". If for somereason, they upgraded PG, it would involve Suggs, but that's highly unlikely.

He cannot play point. We’re going into his 5th year with this knowledge.

I have little faith in Orlando to draft a guy as good as Bane with any of those picks (AB, Jett, Tristan are all good examples and likely all higher picks).

In 3 seasons and Orlando still doesn’t have a point guard on the roster.

He still doesn’t get that the offense is bad because of ball movement.

He “doesn’t get it” because the offense isn’t bad due to ball movement — it’s bad because we can’t shoot.

That theory will be put to the test this season.

My guess? If this doesn’t work, we’ll see a Suggs for Garland type of move.

If we use MLE it will hard cap us at $195,6M i believe? Meaning, they probably won't use it.

We have what, $177M of cap space now , in between 10 men, so keeping pick, maybe retaining Houstan and trying to talk Mortiz into taking smaller , shorter deal?

I have no clue, that 25th pick probably now has more value to us than the others, because we need some lower level cheap contracts.

It’s not guaranteed that he’ll be there for us at 25. There’s a chance for sure though.

The players we traded were salary filler. KCP and Cole were awful last year.

2025 pick - no big deal, we still have 25
2026 pick - this is the gem of the deal, probably a top 10 pick
2028 pick - will likely not be a lottery pick
2030 pick - will likely not be a lottery pick
