This should mean the #2 or Castle have to be on the table for SAS. Also we need at 2 of our picks back from Houston if either team wants KD

Given that Bane is a superior defensive player or at least has the reputation to be a solid defender.
Ishiba should be gauging Booker's value in any case.
If Booker wasn’t from the state of Michigan and was instead from like Ohio (big state of Michigan rival) then Booker would’ve already been traded away.

Suns can get 6 picks and they won’t draft a star! Get players now that you know what to expect !

We would cut almost 30 millon off our books and get the later picks back. This also allows Houston to keep this year's pick. Nets get a playere that can get them 40 on any given night and someone to build around while keeping all of their picks.

I would rather get Green than Claxton.
Or reroute Green to Grizzlies for a package to get Jaren Jackson Jr.

I don't think it's that bad of a deal for Orlando. All those picks might be meh type mid rounders.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming Wow! What a Ride!-H.S.T.

Bane is 26 and fits better with Magic stars than KD/Beal with Booker, but still looks like overpay. We thought there is no way Suns picks end in lottery with our "superteam" but here we are. Injuries happen, etc. I doubt MEM rejects the offer if the picks had top 1-3 protection, so Magic FO looks as stupid as ours to me.

We don't have the stuff to get JJJ, unless its Book going out. If Ish wants a MSU guy, then its Jace Richardson. My idea though, does fix our front court as Claxton/Jabari/Dunn are all under 27 years old and we save a ton of money and get our picks back. We can now tank if/when Booker DOES decide he wants out by this time next year.

I also dont think MEM is blowing it up, they just got an offer they couldnt refuse. They took that haul from ORL and will figure out the details later.

I dont think its fait accompli that the Grizz are now just selling off all their veterans for draft picks. They've been a good-but-not-great team for a few years and still have All Star level players under 30 on the roster. They can use these resources to build around Ja and/or JJJ and just try to get better with different pieces around their incumbent stars (should sound familiar if you're paying attention). Could also be they just got an offer they couldnt refuse.
But it is possible of course. If that were the case, there would be no shortage of suitors for JJJ. TBH I think the only way its even a possibility is if you just reroute basically everything you get in a KD deal to Memphis for him (even then it might not be enough). Just rerouting your least favorite piece (e.g., Green) seems unlikely to get it done.
Trying out this Substack thing. Suns and NBA thoughts. Check it out: https://hoopsnexus.substack.com/

They just gave up Bane for two role players. This deal was obviously completed with another trade in mind.
We have seen rumors that either Ja or JJJ might be put on the trade block.

Two role players......and 4 FRPs. Love how you left that detail out of the post.
Thats the reason Bane is a Magic today. The picks. The rest is just noise. I could be wrong, but I highly doubt that either Ja or J³ are traded this summer.

Grizzlies were a play-in team and did nothing in the playoffs.
Those picks don't help them get better unless they are included in a follow up trade.

It could be a run for Giannis, KD or another player about to be on the block that is currently under the radar.

Feels like that was a big overpay but will probably help us set the market so I like it

I am not sure it will help the Durant market. But Ishbia and Gregory should be thinking about Booker.

Re: The Official 2025 Offseason Thread Part 2
KD to Raptors for Poetl, Pick 9 and Barrett and a future lottery protected pick
Then
Rockets change their sights to Booker, offers Suns 2027 and 2029 picks, plus 3 future Rockets first rounders, Green and Jabari Smith Jr
Would be a haul and a good start for a rebuild.
Keep Beal as tank commander until he becomes an expiring contract and ups his value by leading Suns in scoring.

I assume the news about trading Allen/Royce mean they'll just let Beal expire as they should.
