He was on my shortlist...for round 2.

So to answer your question I have no effing clue.

He isn't even a good fit but Caruso/Wright can muddle up the water as POA attackers and AD/Walton should be able to hold the back-line.

He's not generally embraced as a suitable number one option and his best Pelican version is very expensive.

I certainly had him down as an option for me in round 2- but Russell's impact to FGA cost ratio was too hard to pass on. Oscar/AD would have been fabulous too but also extremely costly. I even considered CP3 with AD but I figured that would get rolled over by teams with multiple MVPs.

And it simply never occurred to me to map out a plan that assumed AD would fall to me in round 3. I certainly would have taken someone other than Horford with Oscar had I had any inkling that would happen.

There’s multiple teams who should have taken him IMO.

Actually had I not gotten awake by missile alert, he would've been in my team. I switched routes last minute but he was the next guy on my list. I kinda like the versatility Dumars opens though

I considered Wade/Sheed in round one with Shaq/Dumars in round 2.

Just a bit too costly though and I’ve not seen Miami Shaq get enough love in these.

I debated, but wasnt a big fan of the pairing I would have been limited to.

Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

AD was also paired with Atlanta and I think people want a better partner, at least in the early rounds. I have no issue of the pairing with Walton. Both very versatile offensively and they'd be a handful. Not optimal but not a bad fit.

I was still surprised by the fall. It looked for a while like it might be a miracle and I would get him in the third. But he and Zo went right before me. Dang

Still I had him pretty high and he almost ended up for my team (hadn't I woke up). Atlanta has an all-time cheap defensive big that could've worked well with AD. Snake taking Horford early as a Celtic kinda messed up a bit the already-shallow Atlanta pool.

The all prime would've been crazy but once realizing which Hali is available etc. it's more manageable.

And past prime Shaq

I still really like my team. I think those versions of Shaq and Haliburton are superb. It doesn't always have to be the absolute peak version.

Shaq was second in MVP votes and many thought he was robbed. That's definitely non trivial.

And I thought Haliburton was a great player as soon as he entered the league, otherwise he wouldn't have fetched Sabonis which was considered an Indiana robbery by then. And this is his second season, half Indy season where he showed alpha ability.

If anything, I think it's quite weird that this version of Haliburton isn't drafted more.

I agree that Miami Shaq is underrated. I had forgotten that this is Sacramento Halliburton that version had not been drafted because he has taken a leap in Indiana. He was good with the Kings but not the player that he is with the pacers

Usually PG is pretty deep so it might make sense that he's not drafted that often but 11.8 for this version of him is still great price to me. I think he showed glimpses of clear All Star level by then especially when he stopped playing alongside Fox, which is about half the games for him in 21-22.

I like the Shaq pick but I see some other guards I would have taken over 11.8 FGA Kings Hali.

Pre-prime Haliburton is interesting.

I think Shaq/Hali is defensively exploitable.
