Out of the rotation? Non-defenders manage to stay in the rotation for good teams all the time, this is just stupid and completely ignores the other logistical reasons why they would never do that such as, oh I dunno, it tanking his trade value for people like you who simultaneously want him traded for a better player but also don't think he's that valuable (which you know...why would a team trade for him if he doesn't have much value? It would once again make more sense to play him and bolster his value for such a trade).

Clown shoes nonsense right here.

If the Raptors were a rebuilding team, I would agree with you. However, the Ingram trade has changed the mindset of this team, which is why you see us mentioned in various rumors for "win now" players.

Raptors did a great job of keeping Dick's value high last year by forcefeeding him minutes. Raptors will look to put wins ahead of development next year and my comments were simply a reflection of that.

I'd be shocked if we didnt trade 1 or 2 of RJ/Dick/Ochai/Walter for an upgrade or to get a young backup C. I trust the current version of Masai to make the correct assessment as we're not privy to each players offseasons workouts and improvement curve.

Bane actually would've been the perfect RJ upgrade

I guess a Trey Murphy type addition? but likely insane package to acquire.

Part of me thinks just draft Coward who could be poor man's Murphy.

Not sure I'd do it even if I could, as much as I like Trey Murphy in theory he's not as good as Desmond Bane.

If im sending out the whole treasure chest of 1st for the next half decade I want a real big fish (atleast similar to Bane)

but who's out there that makes sense?

Minus KD and melo who I don't think convincingly makes us better with what we'd give up

I think it depends on whether we want flexibility or just some minor consolidation. One move that comes to mind is trading him for KCP and a future Magic 1st, with the hope that Pope can rehab his value since last year was an outlier for his shooting. You also hope he can mentor the other SGs on the team like Dick, Ochai and Walter.

One other option i've seen fielded was the Kings doing a Kangz move in trading DeMar and a 1st for RJ which...makes them younger I guess? I like a DeMar reunion on paper but it's a year too early for that, I feel.

Bam could be an interesting option if the Heat strike out on KD and finally decide to do a rebuild...but they do owe the Hornets a 1st in 2028 at worst (2027 is lottery protected) so that would need to be a very short rebuild.

Trey Murphy would be my favorite option but...the cost will probably be more than expected thanks to the Magic screwing up the trade market.

One funny option could be the Bulls. Zach Collins and either the 12th pick or a future first? It would free up cap space to re-sign Ochai at the very least.

where's the puke emoji?

please tell me we didn't end the rebuild to trade for KCP or Demar

talk about going nowhere

I choose internal improvement over those options definitively

Those are just the first to come to mind and besides that, you're not trading for KCP or DeMar in those scenarios. You're trading for the draft capital they come with to further build out the roster via a trade. Maybe you move KCP after rehabbing his value for something nice, maybe he's the salary ballast for...I dunno, Coby White? Point being, it's less trading for them and more for the pick they'd come with.

If his contract wasn't straight abysmal...Zach Lavine would've been a lethal fit next to this current constructed Raptors team.

Lavine and Booker comes to mind as great SG fits next to Ingram/Scottie. Too bad one is overpaid and the other is untouchable most likely

Raps highly value Gradey. He’ll get stronger which will help him on the defensive end and endurance since he’s running like a maniac which also creates a ton of gravity on the floor. Not a lot of players have that on our team. Just gotta keep getting better and he will next season.

Gradey doesn't have to be a plus defender, he just has to hold his own. With his size and smarts I think he can be a neutral defender.

With pretty terrible shooting splits he was nearly a plus offensive player according to EPM. It speaks to Gradey having a lot of latent offensive impact.

I don't know what Memphis is doing but I would call on JJJ and offer them whatever they want.

I doubt he agrees to re-sign and you cant trade for him without that assurance with what you'd give up

Ingram trade also came out of nowhere. In prior years it felt the management was asleep at the wheel, but now it looks like they're alive and kicking. Contract year lol.

I would trade JA and JJ for as many picks as I could possibly get that are in the far future. 2028 or 2029 and beyond. Then tank like crazy for a year or two. Get some new young prospects and have all those picks to keep drafting depth as the young guys develop. Key point being get as many unprotected picks 2028 or 2029 and beyond. They already got some young talent to throw out there after trading JA and JJ to tank it out. I think a team that could do this would set them selfs up for decades. And with how well Memphis drafts they should be able to pull this off perfectly.

Just sucks JA has to many problems off the court to ever become a star like he was growing to be.

Ben Mathurin is the guy that comes to mind...

If Gradey can hold his own his offense is enough to make him a plus player.

To me as long as you not trying to play RJ and Gradey at the same time you can make it work

At first I was like who is JA, until I realized you Meant Morant. Yeah, JJJ is someone you empty the clip for, especially if Masai could convince him to sign an extension. Still, he's under contract for 2 more years, which is more than Kawhi was for.

I know this is bad for the Kings but this is my prediction. Wiggins+20 for Demar and Ellis
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

I would honestly trade Dick, Walter, and picks away before Ochai and RJ.
I honestly don't see any major improvements from Dick / Walter, I don't feel either of their ceiling is very high.
I would package them with Scotty for Giannis and Lopez.

Wow at 21 and 20 years old? Not saying your wrong, but a little early to write off seeing major improvements from these players.

Couldn't disagree more and im very confident Walter will be better than Ochai by end of the season
