They're in roughly the same position we were with Jimmy at the trade deadline. Sure they'd love to be able to canvas the entire league and optimize their return, but with the pending extension KD is going to dictate where he goes. They're going to take a deal that they dont love but will ultimately be the best they can get under the circumstances.

This is exactly it right here. Everything else is just noise. Block out the noise and trust this is the path.

As if the net result from trading away a 37-year old on an expiring deal should be excitement after mortgaging your franchise’s future and constructing an ill-fitting nba2k lineup and operating from a compromised financial position.

We weren’t excited with our return for Jimmy either.

The real win for Pat will be to make sure Ware (and Bam and Herro of course) is not included. I think most will be satisfied with that. But if he can keep Jovic out of it, it's an absolute coup.

Pat just can't give up too many assets in obtaining KD. Because just obtaining KD isn't enough. We will need to follow up with additional trades if this actually happens.

That means being judicious with assets such as expirings that will provide teams cap relief. I'm of the belief, for instance, that if Jovic has to be included in the KD deal, you take Duncan out of it and find another way to make the numbers work. Then use Duncan to send to another team for a rotation player in exchange for cap relief. Same for Rozier.

Idk what the salaries really are and how it'd work, but I hope that is at least the thinking.

Bane trade made them delusional or they want it to drag on for awhile because they don’t want to be the team who traded one of the greatest ever for scraps right after Bane got a haul

Def got to take what they can get at this point. Nobody is paying a premium for a retired rental.

The Heat r just crossing their fingers and toes and hoping they can get a peak year in return and strike it rich.

I remember last year when we had some in here saying there’s no way Jimmy is going to act out. He’s going to play out his contract and show them why he deserves his extension. He respects the organization too much there’s no way he risk his reputation again blah blah blah.

Now it’s KD loves the game too much to not play out his contract year with another team. You have no idea when you have teams out there willing to pay you max money at this age how crazy it is to risk yourself not taking that money. It clicked rather quickly with Butler. He had the Suns and Warriors through back channels saying they have an extension waiting for him.

Well you know where he forced a trade too? One of the teams he wanted that gave him extension. I have zero doubts that Kleiman is not a bitch and will get KD exactly what he wants. Suns can talk tough until you force people to embarrass you to the point of no return. This is how it played out with Jimmy when we tried to take it old school. It only gets worse the more the Suns continue to drag this on. Durant and his representation are playing nice right now before they start leaking negative chit in public. The list was the first step.

The Suns track record is that they honor trade requests so it's up to Durant. The media just wants you tuned in but they had nothing on Bane. The more it's talked about the less it's likely to happen.
1. Herro 2. Bol Bol 3. Seko 4. Bruno
unless we trade up for Barrett or trade down for PJ Washington

10 day window until draft. If nothing happens by then, I don't expect it to happen personally. Even if something is trending towards happening, can't be surprised if it drags on until that deadline. More opps for media leaks and attempts to juice up the offer.

Probably fake report but wouldn’t shock me if true. If Ware is included we better be keeping all of our picks along with Jovic and JJJ.

I think the Suns really want another young piece in this draft.

Pretty cool that Miami has had a top 10 defense every season ever since the midseason trade for Crowder in 2020.

Miami is the only team that has had a top 10 defense each of the past 5 seasons. Next closest is the Cavs with top defense in 4 of the past 5 seasons. No other team has hit that mark more than 3 times.

Miami's defense has taken on some different forms and schematic dimensions over that span, but has kept the same foundation.

Now we need to get the offense right

This guys is a hack. Just 1 or 2 days ago he reported the deal as being wrapped up and announced shortly if I remember correctly.

He's as good as watchout, ICC, but definitely not as good as the Sardine Insider.

Hell if Miami ends up trading away Ware for KD, then we better keep our draft capital. Give me Thomas Sorber if he's there at 20 (I think he'll be gone by then)
