Masai seems really desperate to add a big name.

The Suns need to stop playing and do this trade. If the Raptors give them #9, RJ, Ochai, and Poetl that is a steal for them.

Bro JJJ has a bigger chance of happening than many believe....did I not tell you that Bridges, KAT and OG were all legit possibilities months before they happened too?!

When you going to believe me JB?!!!

Idk the reports are the reason they moved Bane was to be able to pay JJJ and not worry about long term cap issues. I also think people are underestimating just how much Bane stunk it up during that series against OKC.

I think it goes deeper. Ultimately where does JJJ want to be? If he was under contract for 3 more years that would have changed things drastically. But its only 1 year left. If it was truly Memphis you would have heard something by now much more definitive in 'mutual interest' or on an extension in the works...

I am betting on the Leon Rose /CAA connection here. That bet has paid off more often than most.

I see this as the #1 or at minimum 1B priority for Rose with the only potential caveat being the generational talent of Giannis possibly out there to be had.....

Also here is a trade scenario

Knicks trade: McBride
Knicks get: Cam Whitmore, two second rounders

Knicks do it to add size & scoring to the bench, Rockets do it because they need back court defense around Green.

Raptors were tanking and rebuilding
Nets were tanking and rebuilding
Minnesota was in financial hell

Memphis just cleared the space to extend JJJ and they aren't trading Ja. They aren't tanking and rebuilding.

If JJJ wants out then that may open a possibility but, an expiring who may not want to extend there and scraps isn't getting him. If he only wants New York that may move the needle but, until then, I don't see it.

Never say never. Good luck with that. You may be right again but, I doubt this discussion goes any further than this thread.

Outside of free agency, I don't see any huge changes to this group. We just need to address areas of concern.

We need to add another wing and another ball handler. What else?

Replacing Hart in the starting lineup

I can't say 100% you are wrong. Maybe JJJ DOES want to extend with Memphis. Or maybe Knicks have Giannis as Plan A narrowly over JJJ so we have to wait and see on that first. Either way, the Leon Rose/CAA connection has a pretty fine record in these situations. Guess we will see JB!

Kris Pursiainen on the JJJ trade possibility…

Someone in Knicks front office views him as a dream pairing with KAT, Memphis has pursued Bridges in the past, Mitch and other draft capital could be sweeteners.

I forget how much cap we will have under the 2nd apron. This stupid CBA needs to go.

Not much which is part of why we need to move equal money back in a trade. With a 3rd team I think we can be within 10%

That don't look good. We have 8mil to sign at least 4 players? I thought it like 11mil. Damn.

Dump Tucker and that gives an additional 3.5mil. He's the 12th man. They forgot to add McCullars too. Not sure how accurate these numbers are.

In terms of JJJ, I hope we keep the core intact and go after DiVincenzo instead. I like what JJJ can provide, but we don’t need to make huge changes anymore.

If you thought Bridges was inconsistent (I wouldn’t even agree on that), you won’t like JJJ either. He’s a very nice player, very good, but so is Mikal. JJJ production dropped to 16 ppg, 5 (!) rpg in the playoffs and he shot 27% from three (!), 38% overall in four losses. Or are y’all just back to complaining? Why can’t we just appreciate and roll with what we have?

I don't think this is official yet is it? The cap is expected to go up 10% I think - and they didn't release the official number(s) yet right?

Tucker is a team option. I can't imagine they pay him 3.5 mio as a 15th man.

Got it - so if they cut PJ it's around 196 - so they had 11 mil of room. Otherwise only around 8.

So it seems like it's room for 1 player at the taxpayer MLE (5.7) and then maybe 2 vet mins.

Does the taxpayer MLE lock them into not being able to then go over the 2nd apron? It's not even that much more than the vet min really so not sure they'll use it unless they have to. Not sure how it works if they partially use it either.

Mitch's health is always a concern - horford would be a great pickup but not sure what his motivation would be to come here. And he looks semi washed in the playoffs. With our luck he would be fully washed for us and shoot like 28% from 3 and no longer be able to move his feet lol
