In all seriousness, I hesitated talking about the mikal trade in comparison with the bane trade in the around thread. Eventually decided I couldnt pass up the opportunity to take a shot at mp's boy. The game is the game. New rules or not I cant let mp and his boy slide by. We have a standard around here thst needs to be upheld and cant let rules get in the way. Also its a knicks forum and discussing similar trades should be allowed.

I really think a lot of you are underestimating and underutilizing this thread. Just quote and go to town. Like this:

See the difference is I like OG and consider him very valuable but both players played really good defense in the playoffs with poor EFF but you flirting with OG over similar production you're calling harassment on Mikal!

Youre missing the Forrest for the trees. You need to stepback and look at the whole picture.

Og freed us from the tyranny of rj's putrid play. He replaced a delusional no defensive unathletic plodding wing with a a demon on defense and a MLB on offense with a nice outside shot.

Mikal on the other hand killed has a horrible looking 3 is afraid of contact like he suffers from a horrendous case of eczema all while nuking our flexibility.

So while they might be similar stats context matters.

Plus og isnt a coach killer. He just does his job and collects scarves.

Mikal helped get Thibs fired he is doing gods work. Oh and BTW reading through the tea leaves...OG wanted Thibs gone as well...only Brunson/Hart were ok with keeping Thibs.

Mikal was 50/35/81 splits with good defense - he was 2nd on the team in +/- throughout the season.

Mikal had his hands on some of our most memorable wins in the playoffs.

And you out her campaigning like he's Shandon Anderson!

Yes I would like him to get to the FT more...hopefully a new coach gets him confidence then basically used as a floor spacer with the 1st team. And yes I need him to get back to hitting more ATB 3's...that should unlock more offense. But there are incremental improvements here...not a total upheaval of his game.

i will say in earnest that i probably transitioned from lurker to poster because of the interpersonal character dynamics and storylines more than a need to talk and hear basketball ideas from laymen. otherwise i'd just continue reading news updates silently

Same, I came here from a dry dusty knicks forum that only wanted to discuss stats. Sht was boring af. Not that im completely against it. I like the diversity here. And get what the mods are trying to do. And frankly good luck. Theyre trying to tame cats right now.

Buuuuut if sht gets real tight - we are all suspended come gamethread time. And I cant wait until mp trashes OG the first time to deflect off mikal. ill smash that report button like Im wielding the hammer of god.

This place is beyond repair imo. I got my first warning in over twenty years for pointing out that the eternal crying and bitching about the Mikal trade - which has been a real thing you know - can and should now stop, which after enduring this pathetic level of trolling the past year and a half seems fairly ridiculous to me. I also can’t recall the Wingo-situation or why he seems to be gone, but from what I can tell, he sure was not guilty of trolling the hell out of this board over that same span.

Good luck fixing this place… I do hope they get it done somehow, but I’ll continue to serve crow to the most deserving and I won’t report anyone. I don’t see anything wrong with that.

Sure

Why is it okay for you to drop your top ten predator list in a thread and someone else gets a warning for calling the same guy a creep.

And would that poster get a pass if he quoted then into here calling him a creep.

Shts messy af.

So yeah im aking for some clarity on how messy we can be in here.

See i dont agree with this.

We have differing opinions that we express different.

I dont know why some posters have such a hard time allowing everyone to coexist without stressing out the mods.

Do I expect everyone to share my same beliefs about OG and 3pac no.

Do I think the kolek krew is absurd yes. Do I think the death to thibs crew was a lil much yes. But I can tolerate them and even find the differing opinions and even antagonism enjoyable.

A hive mind without spice seems boring af.

And there are posters I genuinely fundamentally do not like. I ignore them even when they prod. Cause even though I dont fck with them others here do and if theyre knicks fans they deserve a place to kick it even if I dont like them.

Applying "guidelines" to game/post threads is nasty work.

See i dont agree with this.

We have differing opinions that we express different.

I dont know why some posters have such a hard time allowing everyone to coexist without stressing out the mods.

Do expect everyone to share my same beliefs about OG and 3pac no.

Cause even though I do fck with them others here do and if theyre knicks fans and deserve a place to kick it even if I dont like them.

Then what don’t you agree with?

That this place is beyond repair and that differing opinions are "trolling"

That if someone doesnt share my opinion or view they are wrong.

That we need mods to overextend and dictate how the forum is run. That we as adults should be able to police ourselves and ignore people that we dont fck with. That its okay to be slightly uncomfortable around others. That we can share spaces with people we dont agree with. Especially when it comes to a knicks forum.

That its easy to find common ground and get along even if mp cauddles mikal he is still a knicks fan at the end of the day.

Thank you!

 Premeditated trolling! Brilliant!

Thank you glad my talents aren't being wasted here.
