If "Ace" can give us the flashes of help side defense, secondary rim protection and cutting of perpetual MLE candidate Larry Nance Jr, then I'll have to learn to love that.

The odd outlier nights where he hits three threes (over the course of a season shooting 32% from deep) will be the ones to really celebrate.

If Ace not having a 90% FT in high school is really the thing that sinks the Ace Bailey argument, then there was never really an argument to begin with.

BTW, Cam Thomas is like a top 10 scorer in the league, but he is pure, unadulterated trash at defense.

I'm side-eying Tre in this regard.

The advantages of Tre over Cam: 6'6, 6'10 wingspan, a better passer.
The advantages of Cam over Tre: .440 FTr is WAY better than .265 FTr

There's a lot of faith that Tre's size and length will equate to becoming a passable defender.

If Tre is the next Cam Thomas, no thank you, not interested.

And that probably would be best case scenario for him.

It makes even less sense when you already have Maxey and McCain.

I keep seeing these questions by you and 76. Perhaps you could benefit from watching some of Dylan's highlights. I think it actually does a decent job showcasing Ace passing out of double teams or making simple passes.

I know you all are committed to the hate but it's okay.... Only a couple of weeks until we can all cope together under one roof

Is Bodner becoming an Ace evangelist?

Running around like a 6'8" JJ Redick!

Insane shot-making potential that defenses must account for at all times. He's gonna open up driving lanes like crazy for Maxey.

To steal a line from that thread... 6'9 JJ Reddick with defensive ability!

I’m wondering why Cam Thomas wasn’t projected as a top 5 pick if he’s so similar to Tre.
always a jump shot away.

I'm watching these highlights and I'm only reminded that someone on this team was in fact capable of generating assists and free throws.

All this in fighting over Ace.

Can't we all just agree that he's mid and probably like the 7th or 8th best prospect in this draft?

...oh, right, that's the issue. Nevermind.

Team Ace! Let's trade back with the Nets and grab him at 8!

Watching more of Harper. He really has to get his shooting nailed down. He may have to quicken his form and get a higher release. Though I typically am against guys changing the shots. But the reason why I think it's so important for him is because he isn't super quick, and while he's tall and has long arms, his release does not take advantage of his 610 wingspan at all.

Slow methodical guys that can score the way people hope he can get to have to get their shot down. Getting to the rim all the time it's not realistic. I just saw his Rutgers coach compare him to Brunson, which I see it. But Bronson makes up for his height and athleticism deficiency by having a pretty high release with the fade away and he is literally elite shooting off the dribble from three and mid-range.

The haters are fighting. We just laugh at em. The fighting is between the Spurs and the Sixers on which one gets him

Dylan Harper reminds me of Andre Miller and Derrick Rose.

Andre Miller in the sense they aren't the most athletic, but both could/can get anywhere they wanted on the court with their ballhandling and physiques. Both aren't the most prolific outside shooters, but Harper seems better than Miller. Miller was probably more assist oriented than Harper has shown to date.

Harper finishes really well around the basket with either hand. While Harper doesn't explode or have the athletic ability of prime Rose, they both finish around the basket and contort to get shots off. Rose was probably more spectacular with his finishes and contortions. Again neither is known for being a deadly marksman from the perimeter.

If Harper's floor is Andre Miller that's an occasional all star. If he is prime Derrick Rose, that's MVP caliber, at least back in the day. If he's in between Miller and Rose, that is a very nice player.
