(Predict contract in FA) Brook Lopez

Post#1 » by zimpy27 » Mon Jun 16, 2025 11:07 pm

Less than 2 weeks until free agency, thought it might be fun to predict some of these player contracts.

What contract do you think he gets?

Have to think around the Room at $8m for 3 years is his sweet spot now. Though a team probably regrets that in the final year.

At his age, I think it's a 2yr deal @ ~$10M/yr

Depends what he wants. If he just wants money he goes back to the Bucks or maybe takes a one year deal with the Nets at a pretty good salary but not too high as to not be tradable at the deadline.

If he wants to ring chase he might even take the min.

What I can't see is him taking multi-year deals for low money like suggested above. I would expect unless a team really pays him (MLE+) he's signing a 1+PO at most. No reason to lock in 3 year at $8M per or two years at $6M per. He's too good for that.

Kind of see Milwaukee giving him 2yr26-30. He’s made a lot and seems happy in Milwaukee, but think Milwaukee would be smart to keep the salary slot alive and really shouldn’t lose him either.

A fun game angle is Milwaukee getting creative and finding the third team to Bogans’ him. 3yr deal only first year guaranteed at 24~.. find the team willing to trade overpaid talent for an expiring. Or Milwaukee can add some draft capital if you want..

Idk if money is what brook is looking for at this stage. I could see him take a TMLE from the lakers to go home to California and ring chase

I too think he does go to Lakers, not sure I like the fit with Doncic but it's not terrible

He obviously wouldn’t be their only move at center. The Lakers would for sure get a lob threat a la Gafford for Luka and then have Brook come off the bench for 15-20 to provide a 5 out lineup for the lakers

Warriors for tax payer MLE.

I think he is worth more, but now no one has any flex money to spend, so it just isn't out there for him.
