Figure out how to get rid of Cole. If not use him strictly as a SG next season. No PG duties whatsoever. His contract is guaranteed next year but team option for the following.

Sign Dennis Schroeder or Tyus Jones to a free agent contract for PG that can start at times with Suggs injury history or be first guard off the bench. Send KCP to the bench. Sign Cameron Payne for other PG or keep Cory Joseph. Or get creative and find an experienced guy from Euroleague.

If can’t move JI then have him lose the added weight and get back to his weight last year. Have him back up Paolo, no more as a center except for really small lineups.

Work with Wendell on his finishing, therapist for confidence, absorbing contact, getting/staying healthy.

Potential lineup:
Wendell/MoSwag/Random big
Paolo/JI/Houstan
Franz/Da Silva/Jett
Bane/KCP/Cole/Cash Considerations
Suggs/Schroeder/Joseph

This assumes AB/Goga/draft pick/other player used in a trade for scoring/3pt bombing starting SG. Harris finally moves on to fashion design career.

Called for Bane so I’m ecstatic! Just thought it would cost AB and we would need to keep KCP.

So, did we get an answer to "Does the FO add a legitimate starting (scoring) guard to the roster this summer?" yet? lol

can you expand? i still see Chet as a high role player. no consistent offense, needs someone to create for him, great shot blocker. now he may become more, thats just what i see now.

Yeah, as of right now I still like the Paolo pick over Chet, but don't know what the future holds though.

Dennis Schroder is a free agent! We can afford him?? If hes cheap. He would be a great pick up

I prefer him over Tyus Jones.

He goes whereever he gets the most money. That´s all he cares about. So, i guess, no.

Orlando needs a 3rd-string PG. Schröder is an upgrade over Joseph. But Joseph is also fine. It can't be both.

It would’ve happened in the past by now if we wanted him.
I think Dennis goes to Dallas.

That's a good spot for him too...with Kyrie out to start the season. I don't think we could afford Schroeder and I agree that, given his recent availability, his German background, and our obvious needs for years...we would have explored that last summer.

Good player, but probably not on our radar.

A potentially inexpensive backup PG who has good size, good defense, good handles, and occasional big scoring night potential/threat is Dinwiddie. He has enough holes in his game to be available and gettable, but enough big time experience to contribute in the limited role we offer.

I hope AB is in the gym (and kitchen) this summer...we are building a backcourt to make Garland cry and put Hali on the floor...with (finally) enough firepower on the other end to actually win rather than just soften them up for the next series.

Good point. We're going to have to go through at least one and very likely two of NY (Brunson), Indy (Hali), Cleveland (Mitchell and Garland), and Detroit (Cade) to get through the East. But we've got some pitbulls with size to match up with them if we're healthy.

KCP was also in that mold but Suggs missed so much time that we didn't really get to see them together...but the idea is to terrorize guards (and bigs) with relentless physicality and forced turnovers - OKC East. Bane's definitely got that fire too...and the skill to back it up. He and Ja were the big ish-talkers for MEM's high points a few short years ago. He's a gamer.

What you mean? The Magic need a back pg and who create for themselves and other Dennis would be a great fit honestly.

Unlike some here, I see the PG rotation as Suggs/Black/some-dude.

Weltman clearly states here that Mr25 will not see court time this year.

I really don’t see Black as backup pg, he really is a utility type player closer to a backup SG.

He mentioned AB, Jett, TDS and goga

So far all the players he mentioned are:

Suggs, AB
Bane, Jett
Franz, TDS
Paolo, JI
WCJ, goga

I can't see them not picking Houstan s option (too cheap)

Would Harris consider a 1+1 vet min contract?
Will Moe consider a 7M per year 1+1 contract?
Do we use #25 on Clayton jr or a big?
If we user #25 on a big , do we offer cojo a 1+1 vet min contract?

Suggs, AB, cojo
Bane, Jett , Harris
Franz, TDS , Houstan
Paolo, JI, #25
WCJ, goga, Moe
Suggs/Black/Joseph
Bane/Jett/Harris
F-Wagner/da Silva/Houstan
Banchero/Isaac/Moe
Carter/Goga/Raynaud

On this team, the PG just needs to be someone who brings the ball up the court then pass to Paolo, Franz or Bane while playing good defense.

With this team, we just need a decent veteran PG to settle things down. Really an upgrade from CoJo.
