Dude's a savage. Injury was obviously really aggravated tonight in the first half.
One day Marcus Smart will be defensive player of the year, mark my words.

a lot of salt here, boys.

Playing hurt, obviously not physically right. Surviving the grind is part of it and a horrible performance regardless, but the need to pile on knowing what your eyes are seeing? Needing to bash a guy who is clearly struggling physically out there is pretty sad and pathetic.

Eh. Quite a few on the GB didn't care when 4 of the Cavs top 5 players tried to play hurt just 2 rounds ago.

What goes around, comes around, i suppose.

Hali was doing cardio even before the injury. How many players have played through injury and performed much better than hali? Dude is quickly becoming one of the most protected stars. All time great disaster class. Almost unheard of performance. :noway:

You realize that saying would only apply to those doing the bashing, right? Were those people Haliburton and Pacers fans?

Yes.

Ppl also forget, Reggie Miller also had one bad day in the 2000 NBA Finals vs the Lakers. Went 1 for 16 shooting in Game 1. Was healthy, too. He had good games after that one.

Oh is he the first ever player to be playing through something in the playoffs?

Where was this energy for a guy like Embiid playing on a torn meniscus last year? That’s right he got no sympathy

Now we’re supposed to give it to Hali?

I mean he had a really, really bad game.

Why can’t it just be left at that? Nobody is saying otherwise. It’s also true that this really, really bad game doesn’t change the fact that he had a great playoff run with some all time clutch performances. And I’d still say he’s better than a lot of guys that were typically ranked ahead of him coming into the playoffs.

Man so many people just waiting on guys to play bad so they can pile on and make it seem like they’re garbage, overrated, etc. Not to mention the fact that he’s going up against a historically good defense that’s been doing this to a bunch of people.

You want to talk about what’s wrong with the modern NBA? It’s not a lack of defense, it’s not 3pt spamming, it’s not super teams, it’s not diva superstars, it’s not the way the NBA markets itself…it’s all of you losers that pounce on any opportunity to call players trash just because you’re bitter that someone else gets more attention or props than your favorite player, so you make it your mission to tear them down any chance you get.

It wasn’t just a really bad game.

It was the worst performance by an All-NBA player in NBA finals history.

If Hali can somehow lead a team to the finals 10 times he will go down as one of the greatest NBA players of all time.

Maybe. Kevin Johnson made the All NBA team 5 times in a 6-year stretch. Coincidentally, the only season he didn't make it was in 1993 when his Suns made the Finals. He only played 49 regular season games that season.

He had this similarly bad stat line in Game 2:

4 points
6 assists
4 TOs
2 - 8 fg

A player of his ilk shouldn’t have that happen to him esp in such an important game.

Anyone trying to put him as a top 10 sort of player was being a prisoner of the moment.

It should be considered impressive they’ve won two games in the finals against this stacked OKC team.

But he doesn’t belong in the convos with SGA, Jokic, Giannis, Brunson, Tatum, Luka etc

Not sure Brunson belongs on that list.

you must not watch brunson

Brunson is not at that level and was not remarkably better than Haliburton.

honestly, noone cares. if you suit up, you are expected to show up in the playoffs.

people bashed and stigmatized players like randle and many others that played hurt in the playoffs and didnt deliver.

these double standards are not going to go away tho. people love jumping on these opportunities to ridicule players.
For haliburton tho, i agree with what most posters said. He stinks it up way too many times (also when not hurt) to be considered a superstar and what not.
im bout dat action boss
