Edgecombe takes over this spot from Ace Bailey in ESPN's mock draft after a positive visit to Philadelphia, where sources say he made a strong impression in a private workout as well as in meetings with the front office and ownership. He appears to be "the leader in the clubhouse" currently, with Bailey losing momentum after refusing to visit, initially unsatisfied with his search for a proven pathway to development. However, Bailey is scheduled to work out in Philadelphia at the end of this week, and we'll see if he's able to sway the tides in his favor.

The feedback from his interviews at the draft combine in Chicago was not all that positive, with some teams expressing concern about his lack of preparation and focus. NBA executives say Bailey has been polarizing in internal front-office conversations because of questions about his feel for the game and lack of polish, creating a wider draft range than initially anticipated.

I think I said it in the last draft thread, imo for Bailey to reach his ceiling the BEST team for him to go to is SAS.

Lmao, glad that settles it. He said “take your 3&D development and shove it. I practice difficult shots for a reason!”

I think he wants Washington so he can jack up as many shots as his heart desires.

Refusal because of a pathway to development. Him and his agent can go chuck up shots in Washington, Utah or Brooklyn then. I’m changing my vote lol. Draft VJ.

Watching the NBA finals, and I want players with skills that are oriented toward team success along with culture builders, advanced stats notwithstanding.

Give me any one of KJ, KK, or VJ and I'll be very happy.

3 for 5 and 11 is a deal I'd do.

You can grab Kon or Tre at 5 and then take a gamble on a guy like Ace Bailey at 11!

He should be drafted outside of the first round.

Prediction: Euroleague journeyman in 5 years.

Aight, if Ace is acting like this, **** him. Give me Tre, or ugh VJ, much prefer us to go get Harper at this point, even though I have my doubts. Can't come out with a role player in this draft with. a high pick, so VJ is my last choice, and definitely don't want Kon and his lack of D.

Wow, Ace is coordinating with the Sixers on these epic smokescreens to intentionally tank his draft stock! Shrewd move, making yourself look like a loser idiot so that your preferred team (Philly, obviously) can trade down, take you lower in the draft and pay you a lower salary. It's smokescreen season, folks, and it's EPIC!

Would be a smart move as far as getting charlotte to bite but putting news that your polarizing raw rookie was reluctant to come visit and then working him out and drafting him anyway is a lot of added pressure for what early 2nd round pick. Maybe a lottery protected first that will probably never convey.

To be fair to Bailey, the article did say "initially unsatisfied with a pathway to development"

I guess we can take that 2 ways.

Bailey recognizes he has flaws in his game, no matter what he says publicly and he doesn't have faith in the Sixers development team to coach out the flaws.

Or, assuming Embiid is healthy, along with PG he's going to be the 4th option offensively here. Embiid, PG, Maxey, Bailey
