I am wondering if the SAS are waiting on getting KD or not, With their 14th pick and players. And If that doesn't work, will they then consider #2 plus players (fillers) for J Brown. That is probably my first move IF it were up to me.

I don't know when it was announced, but KD is rumored to want to play for san antonio first choice.

I actually like a Randle for Jrue trade for both sides and it's pretty even when you consider contract status, age and fit. Addresses major weaknesses for both. I'd prefer KP be the one going out but that makes less sense for Minny and Jrue simply makes too much money for the C's too keep.

A couple of seasons ago, I was told Randle would clog the driving lanes of the Jays.

I would deadset stop watching if we traded for Randle

SAS are not trading the #2 pick (unless it's to move to #3), that's why they are rumored to be in on Durant because KD won't cost the #2 pick.

Rival teams attempting to engage in trade talks with the Spurs have come away with the impression it's unlikely they move down or off the pick at No. 2; it seems San Antonio is excited about the possibility of adding a talent of Harper's caliber and is willing to be patient, figuring out roster construction concerns later.

Makes sense, SAS won't be in the lottery again for a decade. Get a young talent to go with Wemby and Castle on a rookie scale.

My prediction on the Durant front is that if Phoenix doesn't come down on their asking price with the Spurs, they will end up sending KD to a surprise team like the Clippers or Lakers. Houston is obviously in play too, but I feel like they are holding out for Giannis.

Hmm, I think you may be right.
I do not expect Spurs to spend too much draft stock for a 36-37 year old Durant.
LAL for 1 FRP and fillers, imo  8-) Then PHO wins the lottery. Call me Nostradamus.
Good assessment:

Brown would be a pretty decent fit for Spurs.. Fo and Wemby can handle the ball. He can provide wings defense and scoring.

Jrue and Hauser and Tillman to Sacramento

Derozan and Kristaps to Suns

KD to Celtics (and 20 million in savings)

Just need a center

Pritch/??
White/Scheierman
Brown/Walsh
KD/Horford

For sake of discussion - would there be some type of cap/trade magic that would allow us to send out Jrue & KP and get back KD while still shedding salary overall? Go into the season with PP/White/JB/KD/Al and potentially get JT back at the end of the year for a playoff run?

And yes, I know it won't happen but I'm bored.

For the Cs to get KD, it has to be JB.

If not then other teams can easily outbid the Celtics.

They would've had to trade PP/Hauser for no salary back, then move Jrue/KP to Phoenix. Probably let Kornet go because they'd be just under the second apron.

100%. Extremely lame for KD to want us now, respectfully he had has chance to sign here in 2016 and didn’t. We brought Tom Brady to the meeting. B Robb said his camp was the one who leaked to shams in 2022 that we offered JB for him and ruined our chemistry.

And now he wants to come here? Alright man.

Yep, that ship sailed about a decade ago IIRC.

Not unless they are willing to be in the second apron again which I highly doubt

Trading JB, Jrue, and Sam, in separate trades, will allow the Cs to get KD and go under the apron.

Cs get to keep White and KP.

KP
KD
JT
PP
White

Brad will have to add cheaper pieces.

Celtics didn't trade Jaylen Brown for KD in 2022. They certainly won't do it now.
