The could keep him never works. This is desperation now. See Harden with Philly and how that worked.

Yea no way they keep him, Barry believes everything he sees I guess

Yeah KD is not in keep him mode for his career. The time is ticking. Another year the value only drops.

But our truly biggest need, even before a scorer - is a creator for others. An offensive engine. Advantage creator. Someone that gets into the paint and can finish/get to the line/find the open guy.

Getting KD alone without also getting that type of a player is pointless. Herro isn't enough, Mitchell isn't enough either. We need a legit rim pressure guy.

That is definitely a concern. I think KD had half of Herro's attempts at the rim this year. He's a jump shooter at this point in his career. Either Bam has to switch back away from the perimeter or Mitchell has to take a leap there, or that's going to be a hole in our offense. Still better than us now lol

It makes little sense for SAS to ship out their assets to add KD to a team whos core has played in an aggregated total of 7 playoff games

I don't want to get too much into it unless and until a first domino falls, but it would definitely be a more distributed approach.

I will say that, while Jimmy did a lot of his scoring in the paint, he was so gradual and methodical in getting into the paint and then often finishing off pumps and footwork that he didn't have great effect in terms of collapsing defenses or tilting coverages with his drives. Still was a positive element. But, one that was somewhat negated by Jimmy having his preferred offensive area on the court significantly overlapping with Bam's preferred offensive area on the court.

It's honestly hard to rectify how Miami was able to make it work with Jimmy averaging less 3PA per game every season with Miami than Bam did just this season.

Technically, it make sense for both Houston and the Spurs to wait till a bigger fish comes. Their cores are super young and talented, and they got plenty of picks. Use em on a guy that will play with your core more than maybe 2 years.

Just clicked that he’s the main salary for the Harden trade after we land KD, duh.

I don't understand how the money thing isn't at least half the story right now.

People spend weeks talking about Boston shipping off players bc of the 2nd apron and taxes, but it's an afterthought in the entire narrative about trading away a 36-year old on an expiring deal.

Yeah he’s coming to Miami. They’re trying to squeeze an extra pick or young player. Miami is firm on not trading Ware which I agree with.

Looks like they’ll have a few assets to make a follow up move as well.

From what I read from you guys, Spo sucked this year. Understandable with all the drama surrounding Jimmy and his personal life, but…the dude is trying to save his job.

They don't come much bigger. KD is top-10 in the NBA still. If he were 32-33, a lot more teams would be after him and the price would be significantly higher.

They’re looking to go the OKC Way with picks and their young building blocks in place.

Miami has never went on that way. KD is coming to Miami, extremely similar to Miami waiting close to my he end to trade Jimmy trying to squeeze all assets. Ultimately it will be a very similar package.
