to be fair... miles worked out for the hornets as a freshman, just not as a sophomore.
i dont think monk worked out for us
frank didnt work out for us either, right?
not sure if vonleh worked out for us

id always prefer to draft a player i had a chance to meet with privately, even if its in a non-workout setting. i hope hornets interviewed their guys in chicago.

Wiretap says we will listen to trade offers for the #4 pick up until we select.

Maybe we are indeed going for a big fish player.

Really really sucks that every piece of content is stuck behind a paywall now. I understand this is how these journalists make a living, especially as AI is starting to gobble up a lot of these jobs. But it still sucks

With having 33 and 34 I just don’t see why we need 23 too. There’s no way we want to carry four rookies on the roster

Well the good news is, if you have unlimited time on your hands you can sit and watch five draft podcasts a day and eventually all the rumors will be talked about. One thing these guys love more than putting their content behind a pay wall is having a **** podcast.

Kon has to be a smokescreen to get someone to give value to move up. And honestly this draft isn't any good past the lottery so the 23 doesn't do it for me. Its all a complete crapshoot after the first 12 or so picks. And we have never, ever drafted a gem past the lottery, and if we did we traded them early. I'd rather have a good rotation piece.

I’m definitely wondering if the Kon stuff is a smokescreen. It makes zero sense to telegraph your plans this early. Unless of course they think 1-3 is nailed down and don’t see a reason to keep things as tight this year.

Which player are we targeting on the Pelicans?

This doesn't move the needle for me.

my dream is still herb, but i have no idea what value they place on him.

if vj is gone, id float 4, 33 and green for herb and 7 but who knows if that way off.

I pretty sure if you put Tre Johnson at Duke instead of Kon he is in conversation the #2 pick with Harper. I will just never get this team if they take Kon at 4. At this point if they take Kon and he struggles to get minutes because of his poor movement they are being straight up abusive to fans

He's a nifty PG3.

If VJ goes #3 then I would do -

Herb Jones
#7
#23

for -

Mark Williams
#4
#34

If they want that it may make some sense for everyone. It gives them a starting C who knows Zion from Duke. They can get Ace or whatever.
We could then get a quality starting 2/3 in Jones, add Kon/Tre/Maluach/Fears/whomever else at 7 and whatever spots we still need to fill at 23 and 33 (or move up to like 18 trading them)

I was thinking bigger - like Tre Murphy III.

Ace and Fears are serious prospects. Need a frontliner like Murphy III.

Regardless of whether or not the pick is tre or kon... The Hornets will eventually have to rebalance the roster because I don't see any way that melo, tre/kon, miller Can ever function defensively

melo and miller Both being twigs that don't profile to ever be plus defenders on the perimeter definitely causes some headaches. Maybe Miller takes some huge growth defensively over the next few years. That would be fantastic

Kon's stock is riding off of Flagg's talent like MKG with AD. Time for us to get fooled again?
Your Charlotte Hornets! We’ll eventually get something right;right?
