Worst case for him, which is likely at this point now, is that he takes some kind of lowball offer but very short term. t's looking like another Schroder situation where he rejected a big Lakers offer to bet on himself and lost, but players irrationally believe they are all stars otherwise that kind of person doesn't bet their entire life they'll be in the NBA in the first place. The NBA is the survivorship bias of a few hundred people who are irrationally confident in themselves.
If he has to sign a lowball for a year he may want out of GS just so he can just stat pad, but I'd hate to sign a player whose only goal this season is to put up #s and not care about winning games.
He's not getting $30 million a year. This isn't 2010, it's a different spending environment. There isn't a single team linked to bidding for him.
If the Bulls can get him on a reasonable contract, they should. If they can't....
People seem hostile to the very idea. I think that is a mistake. Top 15 free agent. Young. Bring him in and see what he can do.
