Players absolutely try to influence where they are traded, and when they refuse to go to a winning situation and a good fit, and their unwillingness is aired through the major news outlet representative, that qualifies as a prima donna behavior to me.

So a player should be spineless and not use their power?? All to benefit billionaire owners? I don't see the angle. KD didn't force a trade. Didn't hold out. Not doing interviews on ESPN asking for a trade.

Players have agency, when they are free agents, the contract they signed actually says they can be traded, they also collectively agreed to that during CBA negotioations, they are also very wealthy and capable of "surviving" the move to any city, again, like the contract that guarantees them generarional wealth states.
I'm not against respecting stars wishes, within reason, Durant torpedoed attempt to save Suns season 5 months agi, and Suns owe him nothing if they are sending to good situation.

What needs to be added?

I think the value is fair in a vacuum as-is, but there is no reason for Utah to trade Sexton in a lateral move instead of for compensation. Now that New Orleans has #23, that is what I'd ask for, but that feels like too much to give up and I don't have any desire to balance it b/c we don't really need/want CJ (albeit I'd love to have him as a veteran mentor on the team).

Both parties don’t owe either anything is my point? Both parties should do what’s best for them.

You state he signed the contract then used the fact that he decided to honor his contract and play out the season against him. It’s ownership job to save the Suns season.

I just don’t see the angle that KD hasn’t been acting within reason.

I disagree about KD acting within reason, but my OP was about the Suns not needing to honkir his wishes.

Why for Minny: Add KD as rumoured
If Orlando is sending out Goga, have them receive a S&T NAW.

Would Toronto be interested in the Bucks ‘31 1st (unprotected) + ‘26 swap (which would be the worst between Mil and Nop) for #9?

Does replacing the ‘26 swap with the ‘32 swap (unprotected) make any difference, or still a firm no?

Still a firm no. 31 first is not helping us win next year

Okay, last angle, since it seems this probably just isn’t going to happen.

Any interest in a trade back to 14,15, or 16 if it came with that swap? If that gets it close, we could probably work out the details, but i understand if the preferred route is #9+ assets for a star, or just using 9 to draft and continue building.

If Bailey drops to #5, which teams would be willing to trade up for him and what might they offer?

Off-handedly threw this out in the New Orleans/BOS thread, but does Murray & 7 from NOP to BKN for 19 and Cam make any sense? In a NOP wants to compete this year world. Long term, probably better to suck it up and keep 7. Grab a PG at 19, sign Cory Joseph, etc.

I dont know how NOP looks at their roster, looks at the unreliability of Zion, looks at the state of the West and come away thinking that trading back in the draft for a vet forward is the way to go.

They are unfortunately gonna be forced to rebuild yet again

#7 & #23 to the Nets for #8, #19 & #36?
Or 7 & 23 for 8, 26 & 27?

7 & 23 for 6 & 40 from the Wizards?

7 & 23 for 5 (&41?) from the Jazz?

7, 23, & future unprotected for #4, 33 & 34 from the Hornets?

Let me introduce you to Joe Dumars... I kid, but new GM and Zion looked good at the end of last year. And it's not just getting Cam, it's dumping Murray too. Not the smartest long term move ever, but I could see it. Ultimately, 7 is probably a little too rich for that. Maybe trade back once (10-15 range) and get something extra, then 10-15 pick and Murray for 19 and Cam. Lot of moving parts, though.
