We're the worst offense in the league, i think we can more than accommodate a high scoring wing, if he's good at it. theres no reason to be worrying about getting guys to fit in to what we have existing

Exactly.

Sixers are in a different situation. They have a thin top-heavy roster weighed down by 3 mammoth contracts. They spend money to win.

They have to think more about NBA-readiness and fit, higher floors. They will not be swinging hard at 3.

Well... the good news for Ace is no matter how we start this season by February it will probably just be him and miles out there chucking 25 shots a game anyway since everyone else will be hurt.

Yeah everyone stressing the fit of LaMelo and Miller like it’s not gonna be KJ/Ace/Miles/Salaun/Moussa all season

Honestly it's unfortunate when young impressionable dudes are being steered in the wrong direction by agents with main character syndrome.

Bottom line, if a lot of this is just ace receiving bad advice from some people that he trusted, then that's unfortunate and hopefully he gets those people out of his life and get some better representation soon.

Ace attitude screams alpha. I like those cocky/confident players.

Don't overthink it draft Ace if he's available at #4

Teams are trying to trade up for Ace for a reason.

Why do I feel Ace is generating more calls for trade up to 3 than VJ? I think teams place premium on scoring potential. Players who can create offense for themselves and others like Harper and Fears theoretically should attract the largest pool of bidders.

But I don't know if the bids would move the Sixers off someone like VJ who fits there, is NBA-ready on defense, and stabilizes the floor for their next wave players post-Embiid led by Maxey and McCain.

Ultimately, if the Sixers prefer to avoid a longterm play like Ace, you grab him without thinking twice. He can break down a defense in many ways.

Hopefully the rumors of Philly liking VJ is true. It makes our job much easier to just take Ace.

My fear as you said teams are eyeing Ace in a trade up and Philly listening to those offers.

I do think the rumor of Pelicans coveting Ace sounds fishy - with Tre Murphy III and Zion there. Sixers don't have much in terms of matching salaries and they likely don't prefer surplus draft capital.

My bet is Sixers make their own pick and select VJ, leaving Ace to Peterson.

Remember the Rockets at 3 broadcast all the teams trying to trade up for x,y, z, for Clingan, for Sheppard, for Castle? It was a merry-go-round threat to remove prospects from the board teams drafting after 3 hoped would fall to them.

Only for the win-now Rockets to seize the opportunity to add a top prospect to control longterm costs. Those high end rookie scale deals always seem to make the most sense for a competitive team displaced in the draft. It's a unique opportunity to get close to a high-end prospect for maybe the last time in many, many years.

So another Kai Jones. How could these kids be so dense, don't they realize teams are trying to make things easier for them? Even Kawhi started out as a role player.

Don't see how he'll work with Melo and Miller if he isn't willing to be a role player early on.

This also seems to be the opposite of the "Hornets culture" the FO/coaches want to install.

Drafting a kid with the #4 pick to be a role player is crazy.

I thought we wanted a star. Ace has at least believes in himself as a future star. I like his mentality.

I am going to be totally honest here.

His game and what he did on the court last year makes me think he is going to be a bust. However....,

His name is Airious...

The guy who had the best scam we know of was named Madoff.

The politician who got in trouble for trying to get with young girls a bunch of times was named Anthony Weiner.

I am not going to bet aganist somebody named Airious being someone of significane in basketball. Damn the torpedos! Full speed ahead! Ace Bailey at number 4 if he doesn't go 2 or 3....

It’s hard for me to fathom suffering through the season we just did and wringing your hangs because a super talented prospect in your range wants to be a star

The last thing this team needs is some guy who wants to come fit in to what we’ve got going on, shoot some corner 3s and give a good interview

It's not that he wants to be a star.

It's been widely talked about that of all the top prospects, he's the one that needs to adjust his game the most for the NBA. Will he be willing to do that? Or will he not and end up causing problems because his ego is too big?
