KCP is a fit what the Grizz are looking for. The players offered are not rotation players here in Memphis so the deal is a negative for us. The 2nd does nothing for us considering the bad players we would be adding.
Easy pass for Memphis.

MEM gets off KCP's contract for two expirings and a second.
LAL acquire KCP after a down year and see if playing with better playmaking might rehabilitate his shooting. He fills a big need as a perimeter defender.
Make it Vando and I think Griz have to take that and smile about it.

Wrong again. I don’t understand why you cannot believe that KCP is actually wanted here regardless of his perceived negative trade valued. The OP trade only makes sense if we prefer to keep Cole and pay to dump Kleber instead. But no way we take the worst player and contract in Vandy back that would cost way more to dump than Cole would.
If LAL doesn’t want KCP for bad expirings that’s fine, it doesn’t mean that Memphis has any desire just to get whatever future money savings we get and dumping KCP especially Vandy contract that goes a year longer than KCP. Makes zero sense.

I understand the logic of getting hyped for someone else's cast off.
KCP was a journeyman, has been for a reason. If he was who you think he is, I don't think you get back what you did for Bane.
I hear the thought of wanting to kick the tires to see if he can be his best self, but as a Knicks fan, we have been down that road too many times in the pre-Thibs era.
Also, I know it has been a while, but KCP has his own legal issues in the past. May have just been a dumb kid doing dumb kid stuff, but with Jah already in house, you have to be extra careful about who you are bringing in.

KCP is not a journeyman. He has been a starter on every team he has ever been on and moved in FA a few times and traded a few times. That is not a journeyman. Starter for 2 championships in the past 6 years.A long history of positive on court impact. Last year played in a dysfunctional backcourt with no PG and saw a drastic shooting decline. But instead of giving credence to that resume you want to discredit his play because of some bad Knicks experiments? And then we should take on the 3 year bad contract of Vandy that hasn’t had 10% of the impact that KCP has had in his career.
We brought in Rose to mentor here….. a misdemeanor for letting someone else drive you car drunk 8 years ago has no credence to any front office in the NBA
I am not declaring he has positive trade value, I am saying when you look at our roster a KCP will fit very nice into it, I would go so far to say that right now he is on the team that likely values him the most in the NBA. Sure there is some risk this is the new KCP and he further loses trade value. But he is expiring next year and expiring contracts are never any kind of serious impediment to getting a trade done. I think we would be open to a trade like the OP from a team that also needs what he has historically brung to the table and willing to see if he bounces back. And if not we have a multi of ways to spin off contracts to redo JJJ. Personally I rather just dump Cole for less money and keep KCP. Next year we more than likely will not be an under the cap team but we will be way far away from the tax, his contract for Memphis cap sheet is not near as bad as some what to play it out. Orlando might have really valued getting off him, while at the same time Memphis was fine taking him back and deciding what is the best route forward with him or without.

Man, I hope he does well, you have a fun team and I am an Edey fan for sure. Vandy is a really good player, if my team could just absorb him I would do it in a heart beat. Role player, but a good one.
I don't know how many teams a guy has to be on but 5 teams in 6 years to me is journeyman.
Hope he proves me wrong though.
