trading for smaller guards who don't play defense never seems to work in post season basketball since teams will just find them on defense.

Any type of a wing that can shoot should be the priority.

this is knowing that Mikal was heavily coveted by the Rockets last year. I'd prefer to trade Mikal for someone like JJJ, but if the Rockets were still interested I'd definitely consider dealing w/ them; their picks are very valuable: #10 this year, pick swap w/ BKN 2027, PHX 2027, 2029 2 most favorable of DAL/PHX/HOU. + Jabari Smith has a lot of tools and will likely breakout soon. Whitmore is a bucket w/ no room in that rotation

don't let Toronto get Monk, he's what we need. a combo guard who can play Brunson's rest minutes, and an absolute bucket. don't have to worry about our offense not being able to get a bucket w/o Jalen on the floor
