Sabonis is probably more acquirable. Can he play C though? He probably fits better than Jak.

I dunno about Sabonis as a 5. He lacks size. Jak is a better defensive C.

Maybe bring him as a 4?

I could see Sabonis working out in Toronto. Something like Monk and Sabonis for Quickley, Jakob, Ochai and 9.

You start Monk, Ingram, RJ, Barnes, Sabonis. This is a big starting 5 for the Raps.

It looks like Ujiri and Webster are uncharacteristically aggressive this time around. Can’t remember the last time I saw this team’s name all over the place.

Cris Davis is not a reporter. They're a Twitter user with a checkmark. They have no sources, they are at best aggregating previous rumors and presenting them as a matter of fact and have been wrong about a lot of previous ""reports"".

Only if we keep Poeltl as backup which I'm not sure we would do financially. I watched a lot of Kings games last year and you definitely need a 7 footer to back him up. Someone who is tall and and grab boards. On offence he's gonna be 4th or 5th option. But everything else he does is killer just a very smart player who is team first and all about winning no matter what. He will just put up points like Siakam does. Very randomly with out having plays run for him but don't throw him the ball and ask him to get you a bucket.

He has been playing center in Sac for the past three years. But you also need a 7 footer who can rebound with him at least as a backup to him aka Poeltl.

He's been putting up big rebounding numbers but I think that's based off pure hustle. When I see him go against 7 footers he struggles. And I don't like him playing the 4 and having to defend as the 4 either.

Non-source aside, Sabonis is the one "star" who I am simply not willing to entertain an argument about trading for.

He is...
-by far the worst defender of the guys who are frequently linked to the Raptors offseason
-only effective with the ball in his hands which means he's a terrible fit next to Scottie and Ingram
-not a shooter; 41.7% looks nice but it was on low volume and nothing about said shooting for that season was enough to convince me this was the new norm for a career below-average shooter being an awful idea on a team whose starting lineup probably needs another, better shooter somewhere from 2-4
-making a sh*tton of money for the next few seasons so you run into the same issue with salary matching. $42 million is a little more manageable than KD or Giannis but that's not saying much

Every team that's traded him has gotten better in the long run because he is the center equivalent of training wheels.

false alarm. he's watching Love Island lol

Sabonis interesting but hard to place his value. RJ and Yak gets to close but how much more should you add.

Sabonis can work at C if you pair a good interior defending PF beside him. Scottie could be that guy as long as we have a defensive stopper like Ochai starting at SG to cover the perimeter.

Raptors: Sabonis + Monk
Kings: Poeltl + IQ + Dick + 39th pick

Then trade RJ for Simons

Simons/ Shead
Ochai/ Monk
Ingram/ Walter/ Battle
Barnes/ Mogbo
Sabonis/ Maluach or Queen

Thats not bad. I could run with that. I think RJ's value might be higher than we think and maybe there is a way to get Portland's 11th pick.

So many haters of trade ideas. Some folks on this forum either hate the players being rumored, or hate what we need to give up. They will never be happy until we get Wemby, SGA, Giannis for a bag of chips and a deflated basketball. Even then they might complain why we didn't get 5 unprotected first round picks in the deal.
