This is too much for PHX to take in, AND not enough for MIN to send out.
Both teams need to dump more salary to make it legal.

As a Wolves fan, I'd rather commit long-term money towards JJJ than KD and it's not even close.Klomp wrote:zimpy27 wrote:The package for Durant...
Could Suns not use it for JJJ?
What is the gap between JJJ and Durant?
I had been thinking about JJJ for Gobert ideas even before the Bane trade. I think it would be interesting.

So many crazy things can happen in the next few weeks.

This has gotta be water carrying bc if this is on the table for a guy who doesn't want to be thereshrink wrote:shrink wrote:Right now, MIN is $16.6 over the second apron. To legally do a Durant trade at the deadline, we would need to send out at least $16.6 PLUS $51.2 or $67.8 mil.
Gobert ($43.8) + DiVincenzo ($11.4) + Shannon ($2.5) + #17 ($0) = $57.7 mil outgoing salary
Gobert ($43.8) + DiVincenzo ($11.4) + Dillingham ($6.3) + #17 ($0) = $61.5 mil outgoing salary
Now, maybe MIN and PHX are sending other contracts to a third team simultaneously, but these deals are illegal

1. Minny is insane
2. Deal would be done

I think goober alone should be enough and would already make me uncomfortable as a wolves fanDomejandro wrote:K_chile22 wrote:This has gotta be water carrying bc if this is on the table for a guy who doesn't want to be there

To be clear, Gambo sucks. He has sources, but he parrots anything for clicks and will actively intersperse speculation with zero disclaimers. The "and" portion is absolute bull, 100% sure about it.
That said, the deal is likely contingent on Kevin Durant being comfortable with the trade. I think it's going to be a package that makes Minnesota fans uncomfortable (I am very disturbed at the idea of losing Rudy Gobert, where I would be 100% on-board if Julius Randle was there instead), but ultimately that is the cost of doing business.

My guy says I’d happily swap him for Simons for more size and defense, or Grant because of the contract, but I wouldn’t want to add much incentive for either.

If this is real and it's not just Gambo slinging **** (or simply helping the Suns to negotiate), then Connelly has simply lost his mind.

Gobert ($43.8) + DiVincenzo ($11.4) + Shannon ($2.5) + #17 is a fair offer...

I'm less concerned about the fairness of the offer here than the resulting team composition for the Wolves. On the plus side... I think it's fantastic for the value of the Wolves draft assets owned by the Jazz.

Healthy KD for 65 games/season for 2 years is an upgrade, Wolves can do with NAW alone (I assume they re-sign him after such deal).
Conley/Dilingham
ANT/NAW
McDaniel/Minot
KD/Naz
Randle/Naz
That's a good team, I wouldn't count on that 26 swap and 27 1st to yield something significant...
