This is too much for PHX to take in, AND not enough for MIN to send out.

Both teams need to dump more salary to make it legal.

What is the gap between JJJ and Durant?

I had been thinking about JJJ for Gobert ideas even before the Bane trade. I think it would be interesting.
As a Wolves fan, I'd rather commit long-term money towards JJJ than KD and it's not even close.

So many crazy things can happen in the next few weeks.

Right but you have to add like 2 FRPs more value to the KD package for JJJ. What could Minny give? .

JMac+Gobert+FRP for JJJ+KCP?

Gobert ($43.8) + DiVincenzo ($11.4) + Shannon ($2.5) + #17 ($0) = $57.7 mil outgoing salary

Gobert ($43.8) + DiVincenzo ($11.4) + Dillingham ($6.3) + #17 ($0) = $61.5 mil outgoing salary

Now, maybe MIN and PHX are sending other contracts to a third team simultaneously, but these deals are illegal

I’ve been reading odds that Portland are the favorite to trade for RJ Barrett. Am I wrong in thinking he is a mostly empty stats guy? My guy says I’d happily swap him for Simons for more size and defense, or Grant because of the contract, but I wouldn’t want to add much incentive for either.

To be clear, Gambo sucks. He has sources, but he parrots anything for clicks and will actively intersperse speculation with zero disclaimers. The "and" portion is absolute bull, 100% sure about it.

That said, the deal is likely contingent on Kevin Durant being comfortable with the trade. I think it's going to be a package that makes Minnesota fans uncomfortable (I am very disturbed at the idea of losing Rudy Gobert, where I would be 100% on-board if Julius Randle was there instead), but ultimately that is the cost of doing business.

It looks like you are using the '24/'25 salaries instead of '25/'26

Fanspo trade machine says the Dillingham version is legal.
Gobert ($35.0) + DiVincenzo ($11.9) + Dillingham ($6.5) + #17 ($0) = $53.5 mil outgoing salary
Durant: $54.7M

Wolves are going to be under the first apron on July 1 [by ~$900k]
https://www.spotrac.com/nba/minnesota-timberwolves/cap

So it can work as proposed as a 2-team trade.

Worst case, Wolves throw Miller into the trade going to a 3rd team (Portland) :)

Rich Man prime Caris Levert imo. Should be a 6th man instead of a starter on a team that wants to win imo

If this is real and it's not just Gambo slinging **** (or simply helping the Suns to negotiate), then Connelly has simply lost his mind.

I'm less concerned about the fairness of the offer here than the resulting team composition for the Wolves. On the plus side... I think it's fantastic for the value of the Wolves draft assets owned by the Jazz.

There's no point in trading for KD if Gobert is in the deal. An Edwards/Mcdaniels/KD/Gobert core is probably the best non OKC team in the conference.

I lean towards this camp, though follow-up trades could mitigate my discomfort a bit. Rudy Gobert, even declined, is still functionally a one-man top-three defense when he is on-the-court. Dude is a freak defensively, still (in my opinion) the best in the NBA when healthy by a decent margin.

I would be 100% down with overpaying for Kevin Durant to get that line-up (and dangle the starting Point-Guard spot to Minnesota-native Tyus Jones in free-agency), but Rudy Gobert being involved instead of Julius Randle makes it a really bizarre roster construction that needs a ton of jostling around to be viable.

Healthy KD for 65 games/season for 2 years is an upgrade, Wolves can do with NAW alone (I assume they re-sign him after such deal).

Conley/Dilingham
ANT/NAW
McDaniel/Minot
KD/Naz
Randle/Naz

That's a good team, I wouldn't count on that 26 swap and 27 1st to yield something significant...

I wouldn’t want to give up a happy Rudy and my main youth assets for a not so happy KD.

Don’t really buy into gambo here. Trying to get Phoenix that extra asset from SAS?

The Wolves had a nice run in the playoffs, I enjoyed (almost) every minute, but they were still one loss away from being a play-in team. The defensive floor of this team takes a massive hit, with few (no) resources to shore it up. It will not bode well.

JJJ is really good defensively and certainly has youth on his side, but I'm not sure if his absolutely anemic rebounding (exactly at league average in reb%) is any less of an Achilles heel than Gobert's struggles on offense. I just need to have my premier big be a total hoss on the boards.

Hey Nico, moron, if that's on the table for KD, switch the K to an A and see what they'd give for Davis.
