Listen, I think Thibs made some mistakes for sure. They were costly.
For those posters here of a certain age, Clippers used to have 2 players: Corey Maggette and STeve Blake. nicknamed "Bad porn" and "Soft porn"
Soft because Blake would score, but not penetrate. Bad because he would penetrate, but it wouldn't look good.
Our whole season, to some degree, was bad porn. A lot of games didn't look good, but we got the W.
I agree that Caslisle out coached us, but Thibs out-coached several guys to get us here. This includes Spo in the RS, this includes Mazula in the ECSF.
Everyones darling Ime got outcoached in the 1st round.
It happens.
Rather be one year early than one year late. I get that. However, as that series ended, I felt like we had the wind behind us and a ring was within our reach. Now we are without a rudder. We have no idea if JB is really who he's been, or if he was a product of Thibsanity. KAT will be great no matter what, Robinson will do his thing no matter what. Hard to say what happens to some of the other guys.
Come on. Brunson was emerging in Dallas before the Knicks. The only "Thibsanity" part of it is amount of touches that maybe boosted his scoring average 4 ppg. He's still the guy who can score as good as any guard in the league etc, still capable of playing off the ball IF A COACH WOULD DO IT; IF THE KNICKS ACTUALLY HAD ANOTHER GUARD.
Trouble is, Mikal is basically a SF with some guard skills. OG is among the least offensively skilled wings around who is any good, if you get what I mean. He can't really take people off the dribble, but at least he can shoot and cut.
Maybe they could have added Thibs and then dealt Mikal for a real SG. Or Hart.
Having Hart and Mikal in the same lineup is a disaster, made worse by OG. I guess it could work if Jokic was the center.
Trade Hart or Mikal for a real guard.
Maybe a new coach gets more from the bench. Which also needs some upgrade work.
What is the talent gap between Brunson, Ball, Hali, Fox etc.
JB has been an all-NBA player with Thibs. IDK if he does that for another coach.

Some folks on the Knicks reddit spotted him at one of the local airports

It’s what Dolan deserves.
Right back to irrelevance for us.
