Derozan should not be plan B IMO. Derozan should be move B that Miami ONLY pursues IF Miami can get KD for the right price. Whichever remains of Rozier/Robinson and Jaquez/Jovic shipped to SAC for Derozan (consider a light draft capital component if needed).
Derozan does very little for Miami as a standalone move--only further compromises 2026 flexibility. But, Derozan as a utility piece to round out the core with Bam, Durant, Herro, Ware is a whole different ball game.
Mitchell - CP
Herro - Larsson - Burks
Durant - Derozan - Highsmith
Bam - Derozan - Highsmith
Ware - Bam
That's a lot of rotational versatility, shot creation, dribble-pass-shoot skillset and size.

I feel like their sights are set on Jrue but Boston may not be willing to play ball. I just think he brings everything Miami loves in a player and he’s some more much needed perimeter defense and 3 point shooting with the obvious championship experience.
If nothing comes from that I wouldn’t mind Derozan, just unsure how he feels about coming off the bench. If he’s open to it that’s a nice scoring punch though and obviously his midrange game is insane, he just lacks the intangibles/hustle.

I also wonder if we could pry away Caruso from OKC after the finals with one of our expirings considering OKCs future cap crunch and Cason Wallace being able to slide into that role for them after another year of experience under his belt this year.

Could be a troll, could be Wiggins going out in the KD trade that may almost be finalized. Either way, I know many don’t like him but he is actually plugged in with multiple players in the organization

I'm all for it. But, I'm very skeptical that Boston is gonna bend over for anyone (much less Miami) to shed salary. They're putting out narratives so they can convince teams to like it when they fleece them while dumping their bloated salaries.

Still believe Gambo was looking at each roster and seeing what teams COULD offer (maybe based on real discussions in ideal hypothetical scenarios) and ambiguously wording it for broadcast so that it can have the exact effect it did in shaping trade offer/value narratives.
Crazy work. Sitting in that Suns FO pocket and leveraging his reputation just for this.
EDIT: I also believe he was referencing potential offers from TOR and MIN in the event that KD was willing to extend with them.

On the Boston subject, I wouldn't be shocked to see Boston start talking with San Antonio about a Jaylen Brown trade.

Apparently both Texas teams in on KD are holding out for Giannis or Jaylen as of yesterday. Now it seems the Bucks are just going to ride it out with Giannis if he isn’t going to ask out so that just leaves Jaylen (unless someone comes out of the blue like every summer and trade deadline). Might push them out of the running for KD with them focusing on younger fits.

Hmmm really? To me its Houston. You send Jalen Green as the main piece to be in the back court with Derrick White or to play the 3 if they keep jrue. Plus a multitude of picks and other assets, jabari Smith also probably. The scoring need for Houston, the Udoka connection, Houston is more aligned with jaylens age etc, the Jalen Green fit in boston and let him go crazy this year with Brown gone and Tatum injured.
SAS with number 2 overall now. Now they can build around Harper wemby castle. I could see SAS pulling off a big trade but they're gonna send out Fox imo. Maybe they extend him now and trade him next year. Maybe it happens now. I think SAS getting number 2 completely changed everything for them, including knocking them out of Durant sweepstakes.

I don't think it'll just be one team involved in this trade pursuit. Boston will get a haul for that bloated ass contract and having multiple teams vying for it is the best way to do so.
Jalen Green at the 3 would be great. If Boston committed to that, they would suck. That's like playing Herro at the 3.

Fox is not realistic. Too much went into Fox getting him to San Antonio.

Probably, but they didn’t plan on having 2 potentially elite cost controlled PGs in Harper and Castle to build with Wemby. They may want all the reps for their young guys to grow. Never know

Jaylen Brown to Houston does make a lot of sense. Udoka and Brown are very close. He’ll be banging the table for him once he becomes available.

ELITE.
Health permitting he could average 20+ efficiently into his 40s and if we don’t have him deferring to a much lesser player in Herro I think he’s give us a highly efficient 25 a night for the first 2 years at least
