A lot of the angst by fans is self induced. The only real deadline for PHX is the nba draft so there's no reason to expect anything to be official until a few days before then at the earliest. Same reason we get trade talks for weeks that dont go official until the day of the trade deadline,

Jaylen Brown to Houston does make a lot of sense. Udoka and Brown are very close. He’ll be banging the table for him once he becomes available.

Jaylen Brown is a very good player, but massively overpaid ($235M over 4 seasons, or almost $60M/a year).

To be completely honest, I would trade Herro and #20 for DeRozan and Keegan Murray. if Miami got Durant. Herro is a much better 3-point shooter, but DeRozan is better at getting to the line. And I think Miami might run into issues when Herro becomes eligible for a massive extension. Herro simply is not worth more than he is currently making.

My big issue is how much Kuming would cost. Kuminga at $20-$25M/year is probably an ok gamble. But anything near whatever the max he's eligible for is is insanity, imo.

I agree we should be looking at Herro deals, especially if we can land a legitimate 3rd guy to put next to KD/Bam but trading him for Derozan is selling low imo. We could have always traded him for Derozan from an age/value perspective but Herro coming off an all star season (even if it’s a fluke) is someone you should be trying to sell high with additional assets for a high level guy.

Miami has reportedly been after DeRozan in the past.

I don't think people realize how good DeRozan is. If he averages 20ppg over 65/season over the next 3 years, he will be 10th all-time in NBA scoring.
