I'm cool with it. Outside of the NFC North

I think that shows why GB didn't wanna keep him at $17 mil. Even if he got offered more I doubt it was anywhere close to 17

Honestly a pretty fascinating article on a lawsuit that the NFL and its broadcast partners are involved with, in which the defendants are accused of breaking antitrust laws in order to keep Sunday Ticket prices astronomically high. ESPN and Apple have offered to sell packages that would massively reduce the cost for customers (ESPN's version of Sunday Ticket would only be an $80 add-on, Apple's even less) that they estimated would have added 10-20 million more customers. The NFL and current rights holders flat out said they don't want more customers.

Just a failure in the relationship department all the way around for Jaire to refuse a paycut and then sign a bargain deal with the Ravens. And if Gutey was trying to get him to take even less than that then he let his ego get in the way too. Very frustrating to me from the perspective of trying to field the best team possible in order to win games.

I can still root for Jaire now, have always loved Baltimore. Hopefully he picks off Rodgers a few times this year. I know we play Baltimore at least once (hopefully twice) this year.

Hoping he does well except when we play against him.

I believe Jaire thought he would get a bigger offer when he turned down the Packers restructured offer.

Was the Packers offer ever reported?

Odds he's healthy when the Ravens travel to Green Bay game 16? 0%
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

He reportedly turned down more lucrative offers.

If anything all this does is reveal he simply wanted out of Green Bay.

Whatever that means

For all we know, the packers offer could have been more than that if he actually plays.

Seems this validates that Jaire thought he was worth more on the open market and after trade talks failed, Gute knew he was being paid at least 2x. Hard to blame the GM when this deal proves he was right.

As for higher offers, yeah, sure, but sounds like agent propaganda to me.

The vet minimum for Jaire is $1.25 million. I think it's safe to say had he been healthy this year he would have made more than what Baltimore is paying him. He took the guaranteed $6 million.

I'm glad we moved on.

It is not $6 million guaranteed, but he has a chance to get there.

So that's $6M for playing 50% of snaps, which is interesting. I wonder if GB would have been willing to match the same offer to keep him here.

Good for Jaire, hope he plays great for them, and the GB secondary plays great too. Maybe the Ravens are a better defensive fit for Jaire, likely playing a lot of man-to-man, with their top CBs all first-round picks. Based on our current CB room and sorta based on last year, Hafley's schemes usually don't seem to require elite outside man corners (though I'm sure he'd take them, of course!), like Packers fans have been used to for a long time.

Return to Green Bay Packers
