That's what I figured a trade would look like, and it's an unequivocal YES. Easiest accept I've ever had to make.

Agree. Picks and swaps. Still a no-brainer. It's not easy to acquire MVP level player and your top of the roster talent dictates how far you can go.

Work around the edges is a LOT easier than finding a 2-time MVP in his prime. You do the deal and work out the details later.

I'm absurdly high on Ochai. I still think he has another level to unlock.

Agree. Ochai is a perfect starter next to Giannis.

i prefer to keep Ochai but he can't stand in the way of the deal

i rather trade Jakobe instead

Do that and the KD deal 8-)

IQ / Shead
Ingram / Walter
KD / Battle
Giannis / Mogbo
Some centers

C position would be weak though

He's not locked into a long term deal. He's got two guaranteed years, and then a player option. He could be gone after the 26/27 season.

The likely scenario is that he tacks on years to his existing deal before it expires.

I doubt a 34 year Giannis intends to enter free agency. He's going to want a big extension prior to that.

It's not like MIL is going to send him to CHA. He will have a large say in his next destination.

What exactly is the point of this exercise when it's been said Giannis is staying? Or did something change?

NO, we dont do the KD deal because it doesnt make us better. Havent you guys learnt anything from the last few years? Superteams dont work without a supporting cast, and thats what we would have, when trade for KD.

I voted no, the goal is to pair our star with a star, not trade our franchise ROY home grown talent for a mercenary once again. Every other franchise goes big fish hunting without giving up their big fish, it's time we start treating ourselves as the same. This isn't some small market desperate for anything.

This could be word for word, what I've been saying to any Raptor fans that will listen ..
Of course Ochai doesn't hold up the deal... but I'd really like to try to keep him

Too much.

Scottie, Dick and Walter is all I'm giving. That's better than the Doncic package.

That's a recent ROY, a recent lottery pick and a draft faller.

We want to be Indiana NOT Pheonix. Why are we using an objective failure of a trade to set the baseline? Because the Suns massively overpaid for KD (couldn't win a single series with him, missed the playoffs entirely despite keeping a 1st team All NBA player) means we should clear out all assets for Giannis?

Scottie is a massive price to pay.

It's not like Al Jefferson for KG.

I'd keep Barnes to pair with Giannis.

Poeltl, Agbaji, Dick, #9, 2027 1st, 2029 1st and 2031 1st with pick swaps in 2026, 2028 and 2030 is all I'd trade.

This is actually a pretty interesting trade. I think it makes the kings better (definitely a better future outlook). And it somehow works under the cap. No way it could ever happen, but kudos on a well crafted fantasy deal.
