Their new GM is Scott Perry who was the Knicks' GM from 2017-2023 drafting both RJ and IQ in his time so he might see a future with those two. Overall, in NY he made a few smart draft moves, but overall was key in getting NY picks that later paved the way for this recent success. Picks and young players will be a focus for the Kings.

Toronto has been rumored to have interest in Monk, plus Sabonis is a perfect fit for the Toronto offense.

Kings send out:
Sabonis
Monk
Valancuinas
Trey Lyles

Raps send out:
RJ
IQ
Poeltl
SRP 2025
FRP 2027
FRP 2029

Raptors retain pick 9 and will need to find a starter-level PG, maybe draft Kasparas Jakucionas a Lithuanian star PG who gets pairs with Sabonis and JV. Kings will need to move one of Lavine or Derozan in future moves to get a PF, but they get good return for Sabonis for now.

Sabonis
Barnes
Ingram
Monk
Jakucionas

Shead
Dick
Walter
Battle/Boucher
JV/Mogbo

YUCK

Basically 0 interest in Sabonis. He's the definition of a regular season player. Nothing wrong with that but we shouldn't push all in for a player that's routinely schemed out of the playoffs.

Sabonis is awesome. He's finished top 10 in MVP voting twice. His game will age well. Easily would be the best Raptor since Kawhi. I wouldn't break all future drafts for him, but if we're in a Luka situation where a dumb GM thinks you can't win with him then we should strike.

we collected a lot of "change of scenery" guys that have given so-so results so far

I think our team will be pretty good next year, but will never be a contender as constructed

might as well go all-in with KD and then wipe the slate clean afterwards

we owe RJ another 2 years/$60M & Quick 4/140...

Windy said the raptors are looking for a big fish and it opened the flood gates of fake reporters with made up sources and other teams using the raptors as leverage. Im sure the raptors are interested in bringing back derozan

And then they settle for RJ, #9 and a copy of the Rob Ford crack smoking video.

Come on man, that last bit is free on netflix now, gotta step that offer up!

I got BTS to throw in if needed

If he had a contract like IQ I would be all about trading for him. But he just makes way to much to construct a roster around him.

The fact you say things like this should make it clear that Masai has been FAR from bad.

One of our worst moves is trading from a late 1st to an early 2nd. PITCHFORKS

Looks like he's targeting Ace in the draft. #9 would help him get there.

His game is already exposed now. The reason is his defense, he is a liability out there. As soon as someone is able to guard him properly, he gets useless.

the price for role player 3&d wing guys (mikal and bane) seem to be a bunch of unprotected firsts.

if you can swing rj for herb + olynyk, maybe that could work. reunite rj + zion - maybe he can be a good influence on him.

ya, he's harder to trade now. Next July it's gone.

Just googled it:

Once the 2025/26 league year begins next July, the poison pill provision will no longer apply to these players. At that time, the player’s ’25/26 salary would represent both his outgoing and incoming value.

The 11 players affected: Cunningham, J Green, Mobely, Barnes, Suggs, Wagner, Moody, Kispert, Sengun, Murphy, Johnson.
